I'm a Playstation guy, through and through. But nothing about the PS5 Pro showed me that this thing is head and shoulders better, or a worthwhile upgrade over my base PS5. It's still amazing hardware as is, and in no way is it suddenly inferior just because the Pro exists. I'm better of just waiting for the PS6, whenever that comes out.
Having said that, if these price points are the new norm for the future, I would definitely have to consider moving to PC if it starts becoming an overly expensive endeavor. Where I live, the PS5 Pro would cost me over $1000 by the time my set up is complete. That is no longer "casual gaming" on my part. That is an investment that starts to creep into a tier where there are better options available.

People can spend their money by all means but due to people purchasing a disk drive prepping for the PS5 Pro, it will show Sony or other companies that they can get away with things like this

Honestly, I respect content creators a lot more for not buying hardware immediately just to do unboxing for views.

I seen so many others criticizing PS5 Pro but then stated they've to buy it day one anyway.

I think if you’re going throw down this kind of money on a gaming machine, a pc is the better bang for your buck.

You will have access to more games and a much higher ceiling when it comes to fidelity or performance

Saying the PS4 Pro justified its existence because the generation was long is a weird take when it came out 3 years after the base PS4 and PS5 Pro is releasing 4 years after the base PS5

PS5 Pro will run GTA 6 at 30fps. PS6 is where the 60fps is at.

No, hell No!!! I am not going to purchase a PS5 Pro. No disk drive or stand included for $700.00 price. No no no!!! I will go to a Gaming PC. PS5 controllers for this generation have been terrible. Never had stick drift with my PS4 controller. Building things that don't last to sell more and I'm sick of it.

The generation has been complete ass. Underwhelming, still feels like I’m playing PS4 games just running at higher settings, limited library, yet prices are up on games, hardware, etc… and yet the consumer is getting less. $500 consoles FOUR years later. Also the lack of competition has been a detriment, congratulations fanboys.

I really hope this situation blows up further and also shines some light on the PS PLUS price increase that happened last year.
It is absolutely ridiculous to me that Sony is charging as much as they are for such a pathetic service.
The fact I pay an internet bill and yet they restrict me. The fact that my $80 a year is wasted ONLY on FAILS like Concord, Knack, and Deathloop, and NEVER on any remasters of beloved IPs and RARELY on new ones. The fact that youll pay money for a game, say Destiny2, and then you realize that SONY fucking owns them, making the yearly buy-in EVEN MORE egregious.
Then you think 8 years, $100 a year; you cant play the game or any of its conet without PS PLUS so another $80 a year; microtransactions range from $10-100 and maybe you buy a few so maybe another $50; Then you pay an average of say $60 a month for Internet which Sony MOST LIKELY has stocks in, so another $5760(over 8 years) and then OFC the console price $700(pandemic pricing still in effect); TV price you could include but I'm not.

In total, Sony is milking the average person, annually, for about $200 just to simply play 1 game online. Factor in all the other costs in the pursuit of gaming and over an 8 year period you might be spending close to $10, 000 and again, this just the average person who might only buy a few games/microtransactions a year and including cost of services. Absolutely illegal activity if you ask me.

I played Playstation pretty exclusively for the last 15 years, and their anti-consumer behaviors convinced me to buy a Series X before my PS5.

In a perfect world we would have a ps5 pro that costs 600$ that includes a disk drive and a stand, plus u can even have the option to trade in ur old ps5 to go towards your purchase of the ps5 pro and pay 100$ to make up for the 600$, sony would receive less backlash if that were to happen
