PS5 Pro Impressions: is it Worth Buying?

The PS5 Pro was officially announced by PlayStation. It comes with 2TBs of storage, larger GPU and improved performance. But is it worth buying? Considering it launches at $699/£699 and doesn’t come with a disc drive or stand, will it be worth the upgrade from the standard or Slim PS5?

These are my first thoughts before unboxing it in November, let me know your thoughts!

Without a stand or disk drive. Absolutely NO. That would add another $120 roughly making this an almost $850 before taxes!? No WAY!

Having 60 fps in fidelity mode is pretty neat and impressive, but I’m sticking with the original ps5. It is amazing still after 4 years. ❤

Every single tech reviewer on YT will be buying one regardless of the price. The bigger issue is that games are STILL coming out on PS4. Until that stops people do not really have much reason to upgrade.

These damn companies have lost their mind. Half the games worth playing are already some sort of remake of a game from 10 or more years ago. Which is fine, I love the old good games. But now they want us to pay 800 dollars for marginally better graphics?? What is the market for that? How many people care so much they feel the need to spend that much ?

No need to upgrade. I will wait for the PS6. In the meantime the one thing I will 100% be spending my money on is the
Nintendo Switch 2. That makes sense.

It’s still cheap compared to buying a decent graphics card for PC. It’s just what I wanted out of it, some games still being 30fps is horrible to play with. Think they should have done it £699 with the disc drive though.

The issue is there is no guarantee you can run games on fidelity at 60fps. It’s up to the developers.

The current PS5 isn’t being used to its potential.

I’m staying with my current ps5, but they are also including 2tb of internal storage so that’s a nice upgrade as well

EU and specially UK got absolutely cooked on the price. If you want to buy the PS5 Pro with the disk drive and stand you are paying nearly 1000€ in the UK for a console. What the hell is Sony smoking?!?

I was gunna buy one but now I've seen the price I'm buying myself a series x to keep my ps5 company. Best of both worlds.
