Apparently a lot of people are having this issue at the end of almost every print, including myself. The ptfe tube minimum radius mod helps but it is still bad. I think its a combo of weak AMS motor + printing PLA & heat creep softening the filament making it wider. I bet it can be resolved by modifying the filament changing sequence gocde. This needs resolved.

Disconnecting filament from quick release, pulling filament gently AND THEN just clicking "retry" would do the job. Disconnecting the printer is not necessary at all. That's a note for those who have access to back without having to move printer to other place.

Man you just save my life ! First days on the printer and bambu advice to dismount the extruder … I’m not currently capable of doing this. They should hire you ! Thanks again

Most of the time you just need to unplug the ptfe tube in the back. It should be able to pull back on its own now

Thank you. Fixed my first issue since getting the X1C for Christmas.

I just disconnect the tube and tell it to retry. still a pain though because if you aren't sitting there for every swap, you never know when #3 is going to get stuck. I have a hint for you though: it is almost every time you leave the room.

Then the problem is a design problem, because the bend that the tube makes just at the connection with the extruder is too strong and the filament gets stuck, so the AMS motors do not have enough force to pull it out.

Thank you so much. I got my x1 carbon yesterday and was at the verge of tears after I got the error message.

Good video on how to clear it, which I do all the time, but whats the root cause and how do you prevent it from happening?

My filament detector in the head was getting stuck open. Had to bend the little metal wings to fix it.

and its in the 3rd slot... as allways... every singel person who i have seen have this problem have been in the 3rd slot of the AMS... expensive piece of crap...

This happened to me right after I finished printing the AMS disconnect tool. It's almost like I manifested it or something

still waiting to hear back from bambu support about ams issues. Nothing yet and its been days. So far customer service is not as great as the printer. BTW this happened after 2 days of ownership

this is the most frustrating issue i have ever encountered with a 3d printer in the last ten years. it's not like anything needs to happen besides unhooking the coupler that holds in the ptfe tubing on the back between the coupler and the ams. Does anyone know a better more permanent fix for this? I do this at least 30 times on a SMALL multicolor print.

What if you can't remove the ptfe tube?

Normally I can, but it's nit budging at all

Why is it always slot 3 though? How is it different from the other slots?

Easiest fix is to wiggle the PTFE tube where it meets the print head a bit. I don’t even use that stupid part everyone recommends. Swear to god this works 100% of the time for me
