I hadn't printed anything in a couple of months, came back and two of the rolls had snapped inside of the AMS. I was dreading pulling it all apart, watching you do it so easily was such a relief. Got it back up and running in about 10 minutes.

I hope you heart this comment. Sometimes, and I've seen this only once in the almost year I've had the X1C... I had filament broken inside the tubing in two places (which was easy to resolve), but also stuck in the main tubing junction which is not visible, I carefully rolled the right big white cog until the stuck piece came out. The symptom is that the AMS will think there is something loaded despite removing the broken bits from the tube.

Thank you!! As we Brits say, you saved my bacon....was tearing my hair out trying to get rid of all the broken filament. All now well thanks to your vid and your calming voice! I had no idea filament could get brittle. Have checked my stock and almost all the reels have this issue.

Bro you earned a subscription with this one! All the instructions online were so daunting but you made it look as easy as it is! Hardest part was when I lost the screws 😅

Well this has been a learning experience! Turns out if you neglect to check/replace the desiccant packs in the AMS and then don't use the printer for a month that can be a problem. Two rolls of filament became brittle and snapped off inside the AMS. Thanks for the great video, my AMS is back in action! Subscribed!

Appreciate the video. Printer was saying failed to pull the filament out of the AMS and I didn't realize it was this easy to pull the AMS apart. Strange thing is I didn't find any filament fragments but now it's happy and printing again. Thanks!

You saved me big time! My printer started blinking red and I was so worried, luckily this helped me out (and taught me way more about why they give you replacement tubes in the package lol). Keep it up!

Thanks man. wasn't sure where to even begin and didn't even need to go further than taking out the inner part to see a longer piece of filament stuck in the underside much apprecited!

Wow this video saved me a lot of time, I had the same "endless back-spooling" issue with one spool and everyone else said to take the tool head assembly apart but this was my theory all along! Pro tip: those little screws are a PITA to get out, so once you take em out, JUST LEAVE EM OUT! ...I dont think they have any super structural functionality

Just did this as a print broke with 5 min left in a 2.5 hour print. Saved my life, thank you!

Thanks for uploading! Helped me in removing the stuck piece easily 🙂 I was able to keep the inside part connected, flip it 90degrees towards me and then able to remove the inner piping. Again, thanks for showing!

I think that is we need to be doing this sort of maintenance on the regular, they REAAALLLYYYY need to make it EASIER & SAFER to get to those tubes in the bottom. Those little fine filament wires can't take too much handling and will eventually break. We should be able to just turn it upside down, remove a bottom-panel with just a few "pinch clips" holding it in place - (like the kind on the back of most remotes)... pop the tubes out - clear the jam - then pop the plate back on and keep rockin in only 2 or 3 minutes!! This of course means you could just leave the plate OFF if you wanted as well. That would be much more convenient! 😮‍💨

After 6 months of printing I got my 3rd filament breakage in the AMS. Usually is because I'm loading a spool with little filament left (-50g) and seems to rip it apart, I've been able to push it with a piece of filament like you did before. My 3rd jam seems to be more serious probably have to take it apart as you did and your video is very helpful, thanks.

TYVM!! I accidentally put TPU in my AMS and this video helped me clear it. Mine was actually stuck in the motor housing near the back of the AMS and after I followed the steps in this video, I was able to remove the four screws that hold the motor assembly and manually turn the gear to make the filament exit. Putting it back together was a snap!

You're a champ! You gave us instructions on how to T/S this to determine if it was the problem and then super simple instructions. Really Appreciate it. Thanks!
