I'm still using Windows 10 and the same thing happens, Edge opening up and ignoring the default browser when using the search. I've tried Edge in the past and to be honest I don't like it, I much prefer Chrome or Firefox, Microsoft need to stop this big brother stuff as all they do is annoy people by forcing them to use things they don't want to.

One of the funniest things I've seen is when in MS Edge and you search for Chrome, at the top of the search results is a banner screaming, "There's no need to download a new web browser." 🤣🤣

This obviously causes no end of frustration for people and to force it on people is ridiculous. It drives me crazy seeing "Microsoft cares about your privacy" as it tries to force you into doing things the way it wants... 🤬

Microsoft should and could provide the means to do this, without the need for third party software. One of the baggiest gripes I have with Microsoft, is that users are more often than not compelled to use third part software. To do things that should be native to the OS itself.

I remember when MS tried to force Internet Explorer by placing it in the OS kernel against Netscape, which was the browser of choice in the day. Netscape WON their lawsuit against Uncle Willy, but unfortunately the damage was irreversible. MS is repeating this unlawful behavior again with Edge. Chrome should kick their but!

Microsoft Edge and Bing were driving me mad! I tried every setting I could find to choose Chrome, but it seemed to ignore that and kept pestering me. This video solved all my problems and it is working as I wished!! My only suggestion is to give a little more explanation about Github. It took me a little time to sort that out as I had no idea what that was. I did figure it out, created an account, rewound the video and moved forward. Thank you so much for this! Even at the beginning of installation, "Windows protected your PC"..I have to EXPAND the warning to see "Run anyway" that MS try to hide. Lucky that you showed in your video. Thank you for all little step-by-step details.

You forgot to point out that the links opened way faster in chrome than they did in Edge. Honestly it was notably faster!

I installed this, have Edge uninstalled and use Brave. I want widgets to open Brave but when I click on anything, nothing happens. How do I fix this? I checked the default apps and I can't change any of the Edge file/link types either.
