First I've never read in the bible the term "initial salvation" once you are saved, you are completely saved, it is not a process that you will start from the beginning until you are completely saved..
2nd Lazarus resurrection does not express the last day resurrection where in the body of those resurrected are already a glorified body.. 3rd, although Lazarus is considered a believer because he was a friend of Jesus, there is no implication that he was already saved..

As a calvinist I don’t equate the Lazarus passage to be parallel to regeneration.

You said “explicitly refers to the resurrection in the last days”

We’re in the last days.

Excellent understanding 👏
We know that Mary, Martha and Lazarus were believers and friends with Jesus.
John 11:5
[5]Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

This raising of the dead happens AFTER Lazarus is already a follower of Jesus not BEFORE.

Therefore it's a perfect picture of the future resurrection of believers.

John 11:24-26
[24]Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
[25]Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
[26]And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

They were believers and even if they die they will live again.. Then Jesus resurrects Lazarus to prove this point.

Excellent teaching 👏

Amen! It seems a bit juvenile for such intelligent men. I can't understand why they do.

Reformed perspectives on Lazarus are confusing. Jesus explicitly states in 11:4 and 11:13 that the entire narrative is about glorifying God and increasing faith of those who witness it. Simple.

Lazarus on the fourth day was a Messianic miracle the Jews of the time thought only the Messiah could Raise A Man on the fourth day because previous prophets in the Old Testament raised people from the dead no later than the third day raising Lazarus on the fourth day was a Messianic miracle he was showing the Jewish leaders of the time that he was the Messiah

Jordons Flesh-o-gesis never disappoints. As he is, so the texts read. The glory of the Exhaustive Self Determinists...."But Lazarus was raised "Because Jordon can not see it any other way than what he himself is, an Exhaustive Self Determinist.

Lazarus was a living dead man, like all unregenerates. He was raised in the land of the living, NOT raised to the final judgment in heaven. Only someone with presuppositions of glorifying MAN would see these texts as Jordon. He is 100% incorrect at every turn.

I could demonstrate clearly from the texts that Lazarus was a living dead man from John 11, and the elect with the Spirit of God will plainly see it, the blind will not, and cannot. You cannot see in the texts what you ARE NOT, only what YOU ARE, even if shown.

Mans understanding IS NOT AUTONMOUS. God determines who has understanding.

Jordan is my favorite false teacher because he's so easy to disprove. Often you can use the exact text he's citing.
