I'm 44 and my resting heart rate was around 72 BPM for the past year. I have never been overweight, but I've also never done any cardiovascular exercise. (Only yoga and some strength training). Around 6-8 weeks ago I decided to start doing some aerobic exercise. I aim for 10, 000 steps per day. I go for a brisk 30 minute walk on my lunch breaks at work and I walk on the treadmill at an incline of 6 for one hour 3 times per week. For the first 3 weeks there was little change in my resting heart rate, but over the past month it has consistently decreased. For the past week my resting heart rate has been around 62 BPM. I'm excited to see what happens after another few months!

I'm 50 years old and do HIIT roughly 3 days a week along with strength training. My resting heart rate is around 45bpm. When I sleep it drops into the upper 30s.

I had an average 67 bpm HR during sleeping. Two years latter after I started swimming I was able to reach between between 46 to 51 bpm. Swimming increase the size of your heart therefore it needs to pump less to give more oxygen to your cells to give to your muscles. Because during swimming you get few oxygen than walking or running then your body will make your heart bigger to compensate that amount of oxygen to your muscle. The breading exercise is also good for your lungs, but if you can do it in a steam room that will be good for your lungs too.

I'm actually really healthy and do all these things already (working out, eating healthy and fish) but Its because of stress. This world is hell to me, I constantly feel stress over every little thing.

I have never smoked a day in my life...stress and less movement is probably my issue. I am trying to do better. I recently lost 10 pounds slowly but it's good.

Heart rate is highly dependent upon stress. I've been watching videos of violent videogames on YouTube and it dropped to 64, but just sitting around when I have to be patient for whatever reason it can go to 100 easily.
