if you're skipping this video to go in blind - we hope you have fun!

If you have trouble finding illusory walls, just search for the "Hidden passage ahead" message that the community has kindly placed before every single -illusory- wall in the game.

I started the game last night and what amazes me is how open the world feels. I’m trying to commit to moving in one direction in terms of exploration while leveling up for now. I started going around in circles for a while. There’s just so much to see and do, I love it!

I’m about 20 hours into Elden Ring and I seriously believe this could very well be a contender for one of the greatest games of all time.

I'm sure this is mentioned somewhere in the comments, but you do NOT have to duplicate a remembrance before you use it. You can duplicate any remembrance you've ever had one time. So, you can use it to create a weapon and then find a mausoleum later and duplicate it once even if it's no longer in your inventory.

Tip for summons use skeletons since they also reanimate and revive with full hp. Useful for boss fights and they keep on reanimating unless they get hit during reanimating animation then they're gone. Makes em great for breaking aggro off you

Me: Ignored all Elden Ring info for 2 years so as to go in completely blind.

Also me: remembers this week it’s coming out and spend 3 days binging all the info I can find….

As a note:

The blessed dew talisman does NOT restore enough HP to negate poison. It does help it not hurt as much, but doesn't negate it.

One quick correction i'd like to make : you can also acquire copies of remembrances you already used at mausoleums, so no need to wait in spending them if they have something you want

Blessed Dew talisman doesnt completely negate poison. It helps alot but does not cancel it out entirely.

This list is amazing. Respect to those that skip videos like this due to spoilers! Me, on the other hand, would probably miss almost all of these so I totally appreciate this video.

Just a quick note. I got the spirit tuner just by talking to her and then reaching lvl 20. I didn't go get the item, and I hadn't beaten Margit. You don't need to do what this video says you do aside from finding her and exhausting her dialogue at the shack. And then exhausting her and the blacksmiths dialogue once she shows up at the round table.

Another tip for fighting Margit is jumping heavy attacks. After dodging his attacks, find a window to jump and heavy attack him, it has a chance to stagger him and give you a crit hit window. I did it with the sword in the one of the caravans in front of the gates, not sure if it's doable with other weapons. It made my life so much easier

Margits Shackle only works during phase 1 just so you know, he becomes immune to its effect in phase 2

Fun tip about remembrance duplication - you actually don’t need to have saved the remembrance to duplicate them! You can duplicate remembrances you’ve already spent, as far as I can tell more than once (for runes the third time I guess?). Also some mausoleums seem to only allow certain remembrances to be duplicated - maybe only at that location for that remembrance.

That first one about the Stormhill Shack, with the spirit tuner: it looks almost identical to the little shack with your second bonfire in the Undead Settlement in Dark Souls 3. You can even spot the corresponding bridge in the far background.

This feels like it’s going to be the first souls like game that really clicks with me. I’m only a couple hours in but I’ve made enough adjustments to where it doesn’t feel so hard I just wanna quit after a few hours, but enough of a challenge to keep me engaged. Even just taking away the majority of fall damage is pretty cool, and the fact you can run away from a lot of fights until you have the power to deal with them is pretty awesome

Margit’s shackle didn’t seem to have any effect in the 2nd phase of that fight for me. Use it early and save your spirit summon for the 2nd phase to aggro him!

"This is all easier said than done"

And that sums up this game perfectly.

Here’s a huge one! There’s a pause function!!! When using the display screens. At the bottom it should have a button designated as “help”. Press the corresponding button. Of the next three options, they should offer a “menu explanation” option. Click that one. There done complete. You are now paused whilst in a solo (non player coop/invaded) game world.
