TL;DR

1. Rubbing shampoo to the length of your hair (scalp only!)
2. Skipping conditioner
3. Rubbing your hair with a towel (use a t-shirt!)
4. Getting run-down / stressed / poor nutrition
5. Brushing or combing wet hair
6. Always using a hair dryer
7. Not protecting your hair from UV
8. Not rinsing your hair of pool water (wear a swim cap!)
9. Tight hair styles (extensions included!)
10. Using hair products that offer long lasting hold

When you brush your hair, start at the ends and work your way up. Took me forever to learn this one.

Mine personal hair growth progress and success, I adhered to this routine:
Take early morning sunshine daily for essential vitamin D. Consume vegetables of different colors. Applying paraben-free and fragrance free shampoo and massaging twice a week with hair oil from litttleextra's cooconion. Imp. to keep in mind that hair growth is affected by general well-being as well as circulation and nutrition.

From personal experience, I can recommend having your iron levels checked if you are losing a lot of hair. Especially for ladies who may have particularly heavy periods (which can all be symptoms of an underlying health issue like uterine fibroids).

For hair with waves/curls, brushing wet hair is more beneficial. It’s best to condition your hair, and then brush your hair with a wide-tooth comb or a paddle brush. This is because it’s easier for the brush to glide thru the hair cuticle rather than break. I also recommend using a diffuser rather than a blow dryer.

Thank god you don't tell people "WASHING YOU HAIR MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK is damaging"

It's comforting to hear some of these tips that I have already implementing because of traction alopecia that I noticed because of tight buns

Happy Tuesday Dr Dray and everyone . Such a great video . It is so important to learn that good hair health does necessarily mean salon products and styling tool, but good healthful habits . Enjoy your day and love to mom and Tybee!

I’d had long hair—to the waist or even my hips—since I was 12 years old. I’m 67 now, and when I was 65, I had a serious illness that almost killed me. Maybe six months after I (fortunately) recovered, my long, healthy hair that I’d ALWAYS had started dramatically falling out. It was like losing my arm and a crucial part of my identity. I got it cut to mid-back (the shortest it had been since I was 11 years old) and started major hair care, though I’ve always cared well for my hair. Now, over 2 years later, the thickness has returned and the length is starting to come back. I am fortunate to have a loving hair stylist who has waist to hip length hair herself. She only trims my hair and never pushes shorter styles. Long hair has always been so much a part of my identity that the hair loss after my illness was a major trauma. Nonetheless I still encounter those people. I have since I was 30. Now that I’m 67, they probably think I’m just a crazy old lady, though I look much younger than my age. Total strangers, usually suburban women with conventional bobs, will approach me and say, “Your hair is absolutely beautiful! But at your age, you ARE going to get it cut—right? It’s just more appropriate.”
The reason I started growing my hair after a disastrous pixie cut was that I saw my 87 year old grandmother, who usually wore her hair in a neat bun, brushing her hair after a nap. It was brilliantly white, lushly wavy, and at least to her waist. I grew my hair because of that admirable old woman. So no, I am not going to get my hair cut at my age. Besides, I would have to style short hair and I’m incapable. Long hair is easy—unless you get sick for a long time, almost die, and lose it. I’m grateful it’s coming back.

I love your holistic approach to health. What we do on a regular basis is much more important than some miracle product that promises to fix everything overnight. Thank you for reminding us to take care of ourselves :)

My hair sheds SO much. I'm surprised I'm not bald.
I always have to clean out my shower drain -_-

Thank you for this video (I'm addition to your others, too!), as I've been successfully growing my hair healthy and longer than it's been since I was a kid! Happy Summer 2020! 😁❤️

Thank you for doing a more detailed video on this Dr. Dray. I still hope you do a video on neck lines, sagging neck skin, and products or treatments to protect the neck and chest :)

Happy Tuesday, Doc and everyone.
My hair is much better shape since COVID 19 hit. I rarely do anything but shampoo, condition, and air dry. My skin is also loving lockdown, due not wearing makeup and staying out of the sun, more.
I have more time, less clock watching, so have really got a daily routine of caring for myself down.
I’m an SPF addict, finally finding products I love, after trying new ones, mainly recommended by you.
You look lovely, . I’m hoping to hear good news of your mom and Tybee, soon!
Thanks for all you do for us!

I’m so guilty of #1. While I concentrate on the scalp I follow that scalp scrub with taking the rest of my hair on top and scrubbing it gently.. I guess an unnecessary step . I’m stopping that now. I recently got two of those turbin towels.. has a button on top to fasten .. was amazed at how much more water it absorbs than a regular towel. Thanks as always informative
