Looking forward to learning, next week, what you eat in order to arrive at 50g of fiber per day. Thanks!

In my health and fitness weight loss journey I discovered that a calorie is not a calorie. But I'm trying to say is that not all calories are equal. Just doing math and reducing calories never really helped me lose weight. The food choices and exercise choices were what makes the difference!!!

I do wish people would always distinguish between soluble and insoluble fibre! I find it so confusing when they're conflated and when people talk about "dietary" fibre.... My general impression is that soluble fibre is the one with the most benefits. And that insoluble is mainly about staying "regular". But I'm not sure!

Great video! It's good news. Would adding a fiber supplement also help? If so what recommendations do you have?

my apologies... so, daily recommended dose of supplemental fiber (psyllium husk), aids in calorie reduction? and/or weight loss...? thank you! love your channel...

i actually consume psyllium husk for extra fiber but i do it 1 hour after a meal so it doesnt interfere with digestion as it sucks up fluids and maybe minerals etc? hope you could find good research for next week :)

Excellent video. What about us who wants to gain weight without sacrificing on health? Any tips?

The answer is no - fiber does not really affect the absorption of micronutrients

A similar thing but even less known is that calcium binds with fat in the gut so if you eat calcium and fat in the same meal they are both eliminated.

One thing not to forget: though insoluble fibre will combust in the bomb calorimeter it won't be available as calories in your gut. That would only account for part of it - but a significant, even substantial, part.

So eating whole grain wheat bread would actually help me absorb less calories from that bread, because of the fiber intake? I would love more on this topic, because it's really a game changer. This is the reason why I'm not afraid of almonds anymore, because studies have showed that we absorb less calories than it's mentioned on the package.

Seems like another arrow in the quiver of the "people who eat grains have improved health" consensus - though of course it's not only grains doing this, by any means.
