I like the legend, Jack Bogle, advice of sticking with domestic companies. International countries are too volatile. I’m 100% S&P 500 or Total Stock Market index funds.

Great video! I love the simplicity of the 3 fund portfolio. I'll likely switch to a version of that once I retire. For now, I dollar cost average into VOO monthly. Investing in this manner is a consistent theme on my channel.

This is the exact video I needed! I want to retire in the next 18 years, so I'm 100% in the S&P 500. But I need to consider being more conservative as time goes on.

I'm strongly considering a 3 fund portfolio. I started working later in life and will be retiring in 2030 at 68 years old with 13 years at my current job. I can't be too conservative at this point. Any advice?

I'm new to this stuff, but isn't it naive to compare the rate of return without also comparing a volatility statistic. A person isn't typically investing in bonds for greater long-term growth. Wouldn't the benefit from bonds be reflected in a lower volatility? Can we see the Sharpe Index for the two?

Very new to investing -so it says I can't directly invest in the S&P 500 - but you have to pick an index fund - are there just S&P 500 index funds? What are the ticker symbols say for Schwab or Vanguard?

Another great video Andrew! I definitely hit that 👍🏼 button! How about making a video that breaks down the private REIT investing platform Fundrise? I hear you mention it frequently on your podcast, and would love an in-depth video breakdown of it too!

As long as the USA remains a top 3 country in the world for GDP, I trust the S&P 500 or a Total USA fund long-term.

I don't really think this is a fair comparison. Bond allocation would be variable in a realistic scenario (pure equities early on) and is mostly used to reduce sequence of return risk in a window around retirement age. The three fund is more of a two fund (ex-Bonds) for a good chunk of its life. I still like being overweight US, though. You could also argue adding small cap value tilts if you're return chasing.

Stocks don't earn interest as you have shown. They grow with capital gains and dividends. Bonds and savings accounts receive interest. Otherwise good video.

You don’t needs bonds at all so early in retirement. You’ll only need it a year or two before you retire or even when you retire. That is such a waste of money if you don’t do this.
