I think it might be a mistake to only take into account the past 5 years of performance. History has produced many outcomes and we don't know what the future will bring. For long term holders and growers it still may be a good idea to cover the usual 3 fund bases.

I have had VTI + SCHD combo for more than 8 years now. and yep, i am really loving this 2 all weather portfolio, it's probably the best combination

I love your new 3 ETF fund portfolio recommendations! Before discovering your YouTube channel, I personally thought bonds were a waste of time due to small returns as well as potential for a sizable loss. Same for Int'l funds, they've lagged quite a bit over the last 10 years compared to US. It's so refreshing to hear your approach instead of the old method of US, Int'l and bonds. I'm re-allocating our investments using dollar cost avg. to 40% VTI, 50% SCHD, 10% QQQM per your other 3 ETF fund video (this % for retirees). Many thanks for your great help!

VUG and VOO are very similar, so I would not use both in a 3 fund portfolio. A more diversified portfolio would be SCHD, VUG and AVUV (small cap value).

Merry Christmas Professor! My spouse and I chosen to max out our Roth IRA’s moving forward. I have VOO, SCHD, and VUG. She’s got VOO, VT, and QQQ.

I think SCHD is the new ETF king. Crazy dividend payouts and crazy growth. I almost just want to go all in on SCHD it is so good. The underrated beast

Hi Professor G! Hi. Which ETF US is only 100 top US tech stocks? Can THAT one be in the three fund port? Thank you!

Really appreciate your content! I’m new to investing (outside of a 401k), and your way of breaking it down and speaking simply… is extremely helpful. Thanks so much!

Professor, would you consider VT etf in a 3 or 4 fund platform?

Hi, I would like to get your opinion on whether the allocation needs to be changed based on whether the market is over-valued or undervalued. So for example, currently the market is overvalued and there are predictions of correction in the near future. In that case, should the allocation strategy continue to remain the same or should it change to more of dividend funds instead of growth funds? Similarly after a correction, should one revise the allocation to have more of growth than dividend funds?

I have FXAIX within my 401K options -- looks to be similar to VTI/VOO, so I'll consider that base covered. I already have a bunch of SCHD -- guess I just need some VUG too ..

I’ve been amazed at how popular SCHD has gotten lately but yet retail investors are still majorly invested in TSLA 😂

Thanks Professor G, I have VTI and am going to add SCHD to my portfolio as well.

If you’re equal weight in VOO, SCHD, and VUG with an average beta of 1. Why wouldn’t you just go all in on VOO? Wouldn’t the end result be the same? I have the 3 fund now but wondering if I’m over complicating it? Thanks

Since last year I ve been buying a lot of growth etf cuz the big discounts. I still buy some of SCHD when it dips less or more. Whenever the bull market comes back I ll transfer 50% of my growth funds to SCHD

thanks for validating my recent change to SCHD, VOO and FTEC. Multiple time period backtesting tell me to nix VOO and just do a 2 fund, FTEC and SCHD. I sold all my BND a while back. Disappointed that it wasn't doing it's job and that it made it so I didn't have to buy individual bonds and ladders.
