Why I'm No Longer Vegan

Over the last seven years, we’ve shared our life journey here on Youtube. Moving from New Jersey to Maryland and also our vegan journey. Veganism was an exciting time for us. It gave us the opportunity to explore vegetables on a whole new level. But as the years went on, I started to notice some subtle symptoms that I couldn’t fully understand. Today, I tell you why I’m no longer vegan in hopes to inspire you to listen to your body and make changes if you need to instead of feeling indoctrinated into any specific diet.

The link to the Dosha quiz (to find out what your body type is) is in the description box above. Once you get to the Banyan Botanicals website, the “Dosha Quiz” link is at the top right. Leave a comment with your body type below!

I have some questions.. bare with me please..when you went vegan the first time. Were you just eating the regular fruits and vegetables and processed foods? Or were you eating nothing but regular non gmo fruits and vegetables plus the super fruits and vegetables like sour soup, star fruit, passion fruit ect.. plus sea moss, herbal supplements and proteins like hemp seeds and brazlian nuts, fasting and drink natural spring water? I'm curious to know because some people say it works for them and some say it doesn't and I don't know why. They also have a book on eating for your blood type

deff looking forward to seeing more of your ayurvedic lifestyle. Growing up Haitian it was the same for me, "eat until your plate is clean or you are not leaving the table". I'm glad you are feeling better. when it's all said and done how we feel health wise is what's more important.

Agree that the right type of fat is the key to hydration, rather than flushing out important electrolytes with ridiculous amounts of water! I almost fell into the blades of the blender that is veganism (after 9mo of very low animal/plant ratio) but basic research made me reconsider. Since Mar-2019, my diet is similar to that found within the Mediterranean Blue Zones. Beef fat*, beef*, chicken, eggs, oily fish & cheese are all included, although beef & chicken consumption is slowly decreasing. Cheese omelettes or smoked mackerel fillets + scrambled eggs are favourites.😃
All the best to you. Have a great 2023!👍🙏
[ *Mediterranean BZ red meat is goat or sheep, rather than beef. ]

Even vegan I know has gotten sick or died of cancers and organ failure. Maybe it’s just coincidence I don’t know. It just seems odd to me that they’re very sickly looking to me:

Right on! We gotta do what works for us and keep adjusting...vegan sources have almost no cholesterol which is a precursor for so many hormones (for men and women)...I'm not sure exactly how to reliably replace the cholesterol using pure vegan sources. I tried doing a vegetarian diet for a month in college and it didn't work well for me. I think vegetarian [eggs + dairy] may be possible long term, if you are replacing those non-vegan things needed by your body, and are willing to spend a lot on those replacements.

You probably needed more fruits. Not sure what you were eating while you were vegan.

I’m sure the animals are happy for you that you are no longer vegan!

I have just quit being a vegan too, fairly recently. I ate quite well however i realised the portion sizes are so difficult to keep up with to ensure the correct calorie intake. I experienced eye problems, my bones began to ache terribly and i felt extremely weak. I was eating qnd cooking home made food all the time but it wasn't good for my body at all. Damn ive wtarted gaining all the healthy weight back and i look good again. I feel like the vegan diet may work for a year or two but once you hit the four or five year mark, the deficiencies will start to hit your body hard. I'm glad ive come to my senses and to be frank we are supposed to eat according to our genetics. My people eat a lot of greens and lentils and beans but they drink a lot or milk and eat lamb and other kinds of meat and they are incredibly healthy and strong. In fact we have incredible teeth ive noticed as South Sudanese. Anyway stay healthy and blessed ❤

I went from your world to carnivore out of desperation due to so many health issues. It was only getting worse and worse with things like high blood pressure, eczema, hypothyroidism, on and on. On a carnivore diet I started to improve almost immediately. First sign was a good nights sleep! Then blood pressure started to normalize. Vision improved. It is wild.

Another never vegan but "no longer vegan" with bla bla excuses. Journey is a big red flag. Veganism is about the animals, not health.

I have been keto for 7 years. Reversed T2 diabetes and feel better than I ever have in my life.
