To fight stage 4 lung cancer I made 39 diet and lifestyle changes. Plant based raw food and no refined sugar was 1st change. Given 3 months to live in feb 2017. Today happily tumourfreetim

If people get problems or die from too much meat and dairy no one talks about their diet or questions it.
The worst you will get is that they needed to stop eating in this way (as an individual) when the doctor told them to do so.

If people get problems with a particularly extreme version of veganism, veganism as a whole is perceived as unhealthy.

That's called a double standard.

It seems like most of these people “quitting” veganism have tried many “extreme”/ strict diets... Just goes to show the importance of eating a well-balanced diet. And don’t stress over eating the occasional bit of junk food, either...I always thought it was weird how much these strict dieters would seemingly obsess over food...like, that doesn’t seem healthy either, mentally speaking.

It's so important for people to recognize that you can eat unhealthily on any "diet". Thank you so much for making this video, my dude. Very informative.

Fruitarian style diets can be really bad. We need veggies, nuts, legumes, fats. People always go so extreme with fad diets and it never ends well.

I just left animal products off my plate but ate exactly the same. simple, easy, 7 years vegan. No problems.

Great video Mic! I remember reading about the b12 acne connection a while ago as I was suspicious for myself. I am definitely part of the 10%. I find smaller doses doesn’t have the same effect. 👊

1) “being vegan was everything. It was my identity” is not psychologically sound

2) if a YouTuber changing their diet effects you, that’s not psychologically sound

I got IBS on a SAD diet. YEARS before I went vegan. No one says meat gave it to me. That's the sad thing. I have empathy for them but it's such a boon to vegan critics...'see see it doesn't work". Yeah well your meat doesn't work for me. Every time I'd have a bite of meat as a plant based person I'd very quickly regret it and spend the night in the bathroom. NO THANKS!

She also noted personal stress from family issues. And being on youtube, with so much attention and probably plenty of trolls/haters, I have to believe that is difficult on the psyche requiring enormous mental strength. Plus who knows what private relationship or other social pressures they face that are impossible to discuss publicly? Could these factors affect inflammation, sleep, acne, and so on? Lovely people wishing them great health and happiness.

I have Crohns disease. I had my large intestine removed completely 4 years ago and that didn't solve the problem. Recently in a last effort to save the rest of my gut and get a little relief from the inflammation, I've started a vegetarian diet with very very few dairy products and very very few eggs. I had an endoscopy 6 months after cutting out meat and most other animal products, and for the first time ever my disease is in remission! Is that a coincidence? I don't think so. Now that I am moved out, I am fully transitioning into veganism. I think that when its done carefully, it really is the healthiest way to go. I'm a walking example of its benefits.

Why is it always the people who take things to the extreme (and 'make it their identity' like Bonny said) that end up quitting?

Whoa. Wait. I’ve been working out everyday for about a month now. My bloating went down like crazy and I was super happy with that. Stopped working out for a few days bc life got really busy really quickly. Began to notice really bad bloating, slight pain and discomfort, cramping, and not as regular or “clean” bowel movements. Has exercise been the cure for these symptoms all along? Idk if I have IBS but I definitely deal with digestive issues. Wild.

Its frustrating that the moment a vegan gets sick it’s got to be because they aren’t eating animal products

I didn’t know they’d gone Fruitarian! Of course they had problems and messed up their gut biome.

Great job discussing a sensitive issue. A healthy vegan diet with lots of variety and exercise is the way to go! I have been vegan for 28 years! I have had no issues and excellent health. Keep up the good work for the health of humans and the protection of animals!!!

I’ve seen so many “why I’m not longer a vegan” videos and many of them seem to be centered around health issues. If I was feeling bad or having external symptoms and was told to eat fish, I’d ask my doctor what in the fish am I lacking and then try to find that in a vegan source.

How do you get so much hate when you are analysing? Do people not understand that you are offering alternative explanations, with studies to back your points? Good luck. Still watching with an unbiased nor attacking eye.
