I did this once on a sidewalk in Japan. I drank way too much and I was going to the next bar. I got sick and squatted down on my feet, not on my butt. Next thing I know I woke up to a cop asking if I was alright and the morning sun was out. I was in the exact position, still on my feet with my chest on my knees. I stood up and told him I was fine and went on my way. Cops in Japan are nice and super helpful. You can expect a breathalyzer and a PI here.

They seriously do be confusing medical emergency for drunk people tho lol. They nearly killed me from denying me medical treatment for so long. My friends said I don't drink alcohol and I had collapsed at dinner and it was them who convinced the ambulance that I don't drink and I had medical problems, turns out it was a hemorrhage and the police involved were sent to bow to me as way of an apology at the hospital.

Done this twice due to being overtired. However, the staff just woke me up. Seen numerous other people sleeping in cafes and restaurants here. Only time I’ve seen the police called is for belligerent drunks or people who are clearly causing a hazard and can’t be moved. I had to help move someone to a couch because the worker couldn’t do it by themselves.

Been here 9 years. I guess the scenario in the video is different though as a place like a ramen shop is usually small and having someone passed out is tough, and the cook can’t usually get out of the kitchen quickly or easily enough to move them.

This happens only to blackout due to alcohol or being drunk. I've seen some staffs just leave others sleeping or wake them up if they are overstaying especially rush hours. I also fell asleep on in a cafe but the staffs just left me for at least 20 mins and woke me up coz they have to close. They won't necessarily call the police unless you cause trouble, can't be woken up or drunk
