There is a narrative I've heard about women suggesting they are too agreeable and if this is true, that means many women stuff their voice in an effort to be nice.

Years ago I heard an old saying, being nice is not telling people how you really feel, and from the dating realm I see this happen often.

As I said earlier, I witness many women stuff their voice for fear that a man will leave them for just speaking what's in their heart.

I used to struggle with being too nice but as I grew to love myself more, I no longer tolerate disrespect. It is so much better to be single and happy than to allow constant disrespect and disregard from someone who says they love you. There are plenty of fish in the sea and we all deserve better.

When I finally got to a point of self love, and didn't take anymore crap, I'm finally in a very loving, happy marriage..we've been married now over 13yrs and going strong! He respected the fact that I put my foot down whenever he fucked up! Lol....AND...he's a "hugger"!

No way would I confront a drunk belligerent man! 🤦‍♀️ I probably would say "This is not working for me" and leave. And, I would NEVER let a man I hadn't met before come to my house to pick me! And, I would not feel any obligation to give a man a wake-up call. My actions and non-violent communication pattern would be what he got. If he asked for feedback I would give it in terms of my needs, feelings, and conclusions for myself.

I had a first date with a man who got terribly drunk, talked about himself incessantly and when I suggested he Uber home told me my loss for not sleeping with him. It’s not until this very moment where I understand his behavior was horribly unacceptable. The reason I share this is it demonstrates how someone like myself who is very willing to set boundaries in other parts of my life, professionally or with family or friends, is totally ignorant of what are appropriate boundaries in dating

I totally get you, I can get alcohol poisoning myself. Food and pacing myself are a must! But I also agree, don't let anyone get away with bad behavior towards you. Be kind but be direct - that the behavior is unacceptable. Their reaction will tell you a lot about their true personality!
