OMG!! After hours of research on this subject, your statement hit me like a ton of bricks ... your dog doesn't need a balanced meal at every meal ... so simple yet so true. Thank you.

My dog’s mother was a chocolate Lab. My dog used to pick out the green beans and set them on the coffee table.

Thank you so much. Honestly, you should be one of the most popular channels on youtube. I wish more people were interested in taking care of their puppers.

My dog had many teeth removed so I started to make him fresh food. He loves it! Chicken, liver, and I chop veggies small and steam them. He licks his plate clean. He is almost 10 yrs old, and is now acting younger, running around more since eating real food! And he loves fresh fruit as treats. Bananas, mango, apples

My dog is an old lady now. I wish I'd known more about dog nutrition years ago. Looking forward to making her a healthy meal this weekend. Thanks.

After removing the boiling water from the burner, I would put the veggies in first and let them cook for a bit and then add the chicken because the veg should be cooked more than the chicken in my opinion. I would remove the veg and chicken from the water and while still hot mix in the egg and liver-- The goal being to not overcook the liver or that wonderful egg yolk. This is the very best dog nutrition channel.

Dog Meals:

When I got my Golden Retriever she was 8 weeks old and had been fed Royal Canin by the Breeder in BKK.

When she was about 6-8 months old, I stopped feeding her packaged kibble type “Dog Food”.

Instead, I cook for her every day.

Today she is 23 months old….. and very healthy, weighing in at 30kg….. no fat. All muscle.

A typical late afternoon/early evening meal will consist of one type of meat. Every meal is different, so she does not get bored and looks forward to every meal.

1) Chicken Guts (Heart, Liver, Lungs…etc)

2) Beef Liver.

3) Chicken Breast.

4) Fish (High in Omega 3)

5) Beef.

With one (1) of the above meats, I will then try to add most all of the following…… if I have it in the refrigerator.

- Broccoli
- Carrot
- Ginger
- Apple
- Pineapple
- Celery
- Cucumber
- Turmeric Root Powder
- 1 Egg
- 3 Spoonfuls of BROWN RICE (Never White Rice) I cook the Brown Rice and put it in small zip-lock bags and freeze it until needed. I get enough for about 2 weeks (14 meals)

The meat is cooked first at high temp in a Wok with Coconut Oil.
I then add the veggies, egg and pre-cooked BROWN RICE for only 2-3 minutes. If I add Turmeric Powder, I add it to the bowl uncooked, before serving.

Many packaged “Dog Food” brands are responsible for causing Cancer and early deaths in many dogs…. So I feed my dog “Real Food”.

Have fun cooking for your dog. They will enjoy it….: )

I make homemade food for my dog about every three days. I start with casserole dish, add a cup of rice and. Cup and a half of water, add two good size chicken breasts or ground turkey and sprinkle in the diced vegetables. Cook it at 350 for 1 hour 30 minutes. It comes out great every time. I use frozen meat so you could reduce the cooking time. I add a fresh egg each morning over the top. He loves it. I have also heard that flax is good to add so I plan to do that. I give my dog a probiotic every day too. When we have salmon, I always share a bit with my dog.

I cook for my dog now as after he picked up a bacterial infection (salmonella) I wondered just what was going in his food. He never seemed to put on weight and was very picky with his food. But now I feed him on chicken, beef and fish with either butternut squash or sweet potato and celery. He hates rice so I give him a little pasta with some fresh parsley, a sprinkling of Boswellia (with turmeric) His appetite has improved enormously and he’s put on 4 kilos! He’s now a good healthy weight.

I use chicken legs, pumpkin puree (I made), peas & carrots & brown rice. My dog loves it!

Great video, thank you. There is a very popular dog in a country called Portugal, and he has the record for being the oldest dog alive. If I remember correctly, he is about 30 years old, and his owner credits his longevity to eating home cooked meals. That is all he feeds his dog.

I started cooking for my dogs in 1985, after attending a Health Fair and visiting a booth promoting healthy homemade food for dogs. I had all kinds of different rescue dogs, (anywhere from 3-7 of them at the same time). They all loved every part of the meal, the veggies, meat, sweet potatoes, egg, etc. Never had a picky eater among any of them. One of them, a bull and terrier, would never fail to thank me after every meal. Wherever I happened to be in the house or yard, he would come up and give me one small dry 'kiss' on the hand. I also avoided giving them poison injections (the v word).

Helpful hint. Clean and let air dry your organic egg shells. They crush into little bits much much easier

So glad I found your channel. I've been trying to figure out how to get my dogs completely off commercial food without robbing them of essential minerals and vitamins. I feed a mix of dry/wet commercial (highly rated, limited ingredient brand) breakfast and home cooked dinner. (Sorry, but just can't go raw.) Your videos and guides have eased my fear over failing to make every recipe complete and balanced. Thank you so much! Shame to see the "hamburger and rice" YouTubers get 1000s of views. For the sake of malnourished dogs, hope they find channels like yours.

In Australia some butchers make "pet mince" which is leftover meat they have not sold and minced up. Very cheap. I brown off the excess fat and mix it with cooked rice and cooked frozen mixed vegetables. Dogs love it and its cheap. Dogs in beautiful condition and vet said same. Vet said dogs need vegetables as well as meat. As the meat is not exactly "fresh" it will go off quickly so I freeze after cooling and take it out the night before.
