Humorous tale from days gone by. Mommas bread machine was going, and she was making a dbl loaf recipe by hand. There were family coming and they wanted her bread.
One of her grandbabies was enthralled with the sound of the machine.
No one noticed the machine stopped working.
Low and behold that same little fellow had unplugged the machine. 😂

I live off grid. I'm on solar power. I gave ny bread machine a long time ago. Now I cook my bread in my solar oven. It's the best thing ever. I also cook it on top of my wood stove in the winter.

I love my bread machine too! Years ago, I switched from the canister type to the bread pan type. Yes, it is indeed a game changer! I make several loaves at once and put them in the freezer and can make 5-6 medium-size loaves for just a few cents more than the cost of one store bought loaf. A heck of a lot better tasting and healthier too! Real bread!!!

Hello down there in Arkansas ... from up here in Colorado. I have bread baking as you’re speaking to me in this video. It’s a thunderstorm kind of afternoon here and the aroma of the baking bread and the fragrance of the rain on the land and the grasses out here on the prairie makes for an incredible blend of smells swirling through the house. Thank you once again for a wonderful program. And thank you for this gift of yourself and your heart that you offer to all of us. May you and this whole wonderful community have a lovely holiday weekend.

I am on my 4th bread machine ( I wore them out) My wrists don’t work so well for kneading the dough so I use the dough cycle. When the dough is done rising in 1 hour 30 minutes. I form the dough into whatever I want. Usually buns or cinnamon rolls etc. and let it rise one last time while the oven is heating up. You are so right, there is nothing like the aroma of bread baking! ❤

Hi Lori, well it was hotter than blue blazes the other day, but I needed some bread. I've been watching you and trying your recipes and making bread in the oven. So far everything has turned out wonderful with your help and encouragement. So since it was so hot I just couldn't bring myself to turn on the oven. I turned to your channel and there you were making bread in a bread machine and claiming no guilt in doing so. I went to my basement and brought out my old Welbilt bread machine and made your basic white bread. Again, it turned out wonderful!! Thank you so much for showing how to make your recipe while using a bread machine. When the weather gets cold again in the fall, I'm sure I will go back to making bread the old fashion way, but for the next couple of months it will be by the bread machine. Again, thanks for all you do for us novices and God bless you and Mr. Brown

Beautiful loaf from the bread machine. I didn't know you could get a regular-looking loaf from a bread machine...I thought they always come out with the top crust on the end. Yay! And watching your hands as you quickly pinched your handmade loaf, I could imagine how many thousands of times you have done that for your family...and the students ❤...your hands reveal the deep love you have within you. ❤❤

Ms. Lori ....thank you for sharing some of your bread recipes. They look delicious. I learned the cooking ways from my step-mama as a girl and I love homemade bread and still always make my own bread even though I am a senior widow (82yrs) who also has arthritis pretty bad. I do have a kitchen aid, and a bread-maker machine, but I prefer the old fashioned make by hand way of doing it most of the time. I usually do 4 loaves and freeze the extra's, taking 1 loaf out at a time. Love your videos. (I live on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada & have followed you for a long time)

I LOVE my bread machine! Thank you Miss Lori, for taking my guilt away by saying "home-made" bread, even in a bread machine, is still "home-made"! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and can't do all the kneading bread takes so my bread machine is a great help to me. I was fortunate to be able to retire a little early at the end of 2021 so I have time to do the things that I enjoy and are important to me like baking, crafting, and tending to my vegetable garden. I also love your videos on making desserts for two. Mr. Man loves his desserts and like you and Mr. Brown, it's usually just the two of us so a whole cake, cobbler, or whatever is too much. I can vaccum pack and freeze but it's not the same as fresh. So yours is a simple solution to the problem! Thank you and as always, I send you and Mr. Brown much love and many blessings!😊❤

Hey for those who have difficulty kneading bread, last night 06/04/23 on my PBS station they had a cooking show called Milk Street. One of the recipes was for a focaccia bread. It was a very wet dough, with lots of yeast, and they didn’t knead it. It was allowed to rise in the bowl covered with plastic for 5 hours. It rose and fell and rose again in the bowl. Then they poured it into a very oily pan. The end result was a bread with a very crispy bottom and soft chewy top and the crumb was very bubbly. They placed green olives and cherry tomatoes on top but you can make it plain or whatever way you like ❤

Hello it’s Friday, June 5, 2023. Funny story… last week I was attempting a rustic bread recipe. A quick yeasty bread that’s no knead and you can let it rise anywhere from 30 minutes to overnight. Well I had just mixed it and was washing up the utensils when my neighbor called with an emergency. Of course I rushed next door with soapy hands to help 🧽🫧. Well a couple of hours later when I came back home it was like that episode of I Love Lucy where she and Ethel made bread. 🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞This dough had risen past the bowl, across the table and into the chair and was reaching for the floor like The Blob. I caught it in my hands and scooped and scraped everything up as best I could into my cast iron skillet. 😂😂😂😂That was the tastiest bread I’ve had in a long while. 😊

Thank you Miss Lori for the gifts you give all of us through your sharing! I was just looking at my underused bread machine the other day, thinking of moving it on. Thank you for reminding us that it's a tool, not a sign of weakness, to use it for homemade breads! I've started grinding my own wheat and grains, and have been wanting to make a loaf but wasn't stopping to do it. Now I will! Thanks for your recipe, and I look forward to any you wish to share. I hope you and Mr Brown have a good Memorial Day weekend. Thanks!

Nothing wrong with using a bread machine! It’s like those people that say, a true quilt is only hand sewn and not machine sewn. I use a machine so I can SEE my quilt before I die ! Lol😊

Your sweet dough recipe (the one with 4 egg yolks) will always be my cinnamon roll recipe FOREVER! I love that it is SO easy to roll out the dough - & it bakes up SO tender! I even tried making the rolls and freezing, thawing, rising and then baking. Yum, Yum!!! Blessed weekend to you and yours.
