Homemade Starbucks Caramel Syrup | Simple and Easy Caramel Syrup

Caramel syrup for coffee like Starbucks |Homemade Caramel syrup | Quick and easy Caramel syrup recipe

1 cup white sugar (200 g)
1 cup of water (250 ml)
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

1) Pour the sugar into a saucepan
2) Over low heat, heat
3) During this time boil the water
4) When the sugar starts to color, stir until the caramel becomes completely amber
5) Take it off the heat
6) Pour boiling water over it
(Watch out for splashes when pouring boiling water)
7) Stir until the caramel is completely dissolved
8) Let it cool (15-20 minutes)
9) Add the vanilla extracts and the salt then mix

I burned my index finger trying to taste it because I'm stupid :( but I think it worked, I'm waiting for it to cool down

To avoid clumps, you can start with a little sugar and keep adding it slowly. Waiting each time until the sugar has melted. If you keep burning your product, you can add about a teaspoon of water before you put in the sugar. Great recipe👍

Just saved myself £7.50. The fancy glass bottles of caramel syrup sell for approx £7.99 in cafes/bars etc. This cost just under 50p for the sugar. I refilled a glass bottle and it was just as delicious as shop bought
(While the pan was out, I went on to make 2 trays of salted caramel toffees. Another massive saving.)

For anyone who will actually make is as noob like me, make sure you put the sugar on the lowest heat you have as it can easily burn. And when you are about to put the water put it fast and VERY becareful as it will splash and you can easily burn like me.

my caramel stuck a little to the bottom of the pan right after i put the water on 😂 but I think it was because i left a little more on the fire. even so, can still use it and it was very tasty! thanks for the recipe 😍

Thanks, i didn't know I should make it into a syrup to make caramel work like sugar in dalgona coffee recipe.
i poured some cold water then stirred that thing on heat to dissolve the caramel tho.

btw for all of you that say yours hardened, hers did too 0:50 you just gotta mix it for like 15 mins until it all dissolves

Hii, thank u for this recipe. I just have to ask a question, is the syrup supposed to taste sweet? Cause when i tried it, it tasted like sugar, rather than caramel. How do i make it taste like caramel?
