Here's the list of SUV to avoid in 2022 and beyond, as these are some of the top unreliable SUVs I've found today. As the thumbnail suggests, I don't think these SUVs are going to last and you should probably avoid them unless you're looking to throw away your car after a few years.

As always, this is the advice I can give for you to keep your money so you can drive a fun, exciting car (or SUV in this case)!

I can’t believe that you’re filming this at a Range Rover dealership, and didn’t mention a single model. Range Rover has been at the bottom of the reliability charts for decades.

I call BS on Subaru's EyeSight "not working all that well. It's one of the very best in the industry. And, speaking of BS, you had no Land Rovers on the lot, the BIGGEST, most overpriced pieces of trash in the automotive world? Tsk,

While I agree on the examples given, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder no longer has a CVT (they wisely went back to a regular automatic transmission), which removes the biggest source of mechanical issues with that SUV; the video should've included that.

I sold cars for 10 years I saw firsthand what issues came up. Best brand I ever sold was Toyota ! Best models have a j on the vin! My current car is a Scion xB (Camry engine) just got 196, 000 miles.

My 2020 Hyundai Kona was at Reliable Hyundai in Springfield Missouri for over 1 1/2 years. It only had 6500 miles on it and under full warranty. The dealership experience was horrible. The excuse, week after week, month after month, was that the couldn’t get approval from Hyundai Customer Care. Only after getting an attorney involved, did they finally take the car back. During that time, they didn’t give me a loaner vehicle. I spent over $16, 000 for 1 1/2 years of rental car expenses. I was expecting full reimbursement, but they only reimbursed $4000. What a scam! I finally went down the street and bought a Toyota Camry. I learned a lesson. I hope you avoid what I experienced.

Also, do not buy the older and newer GM crossovers, such as the Traverse, Acadia, Encore, etc., as well as the Saturn Vue, Nissan Rogue (older and newer), older Chrysler Pacifica and the Mazda CX-7. These vehicles are totally unreliable as hell. Thanks.

Cool. I drive a 2006 Matrix 4WD with over 200, 000 miles and it still runs perfect. I do all maintenance and most repairs myself. Also, I love to see the old rav4 still cruising around. My friend got 477, 000 miles out of her rav4.

When your CVT transmission starts to rev up too much for your speed, that is not, and I repeat, that is not the transmission. It is the transmission fluid, specifically ns-3. Drain the fluid out by removing the plug in the transmission, no need to drop the pan. There is a separate external filter you should change as well. After draining, replace with same amount. You CVT will now work correctly, however, you are not done yet. Drive for about 2 weeks and change the fluid again (not the external filter). You are now good for another 40k before you need to repeat this process. I've done this twice now, CVT running super smooth/responsive at 146k. People are being told their CVT is bad and that is a blatant ripoff.

Spot on every time!
I would have added the Range Rover Evoke to that list.

My son has TWO Subaru's . An Accent and a WRX. The WRX is a stick shift. No issues at all. His Accent has had only one issue. The rear hatch kept getting frozen when open. It was under warranty and repaired. We have a daughter that has had a Dodge Journey..yeesh. Now she has a Jeep Trailhawk. Too many issues to list. Dunno why she bought that. Yes we do..the price. I suggested a Mazda CX-5. She said it cost to much!! Really? That Trailhawk seems to always have issues. Not as bad as the Journey.

Love your videos. Keep posting.

If budget: Toyota Rav4
If premium is needed: Lexus NX / RX
If Luxury is needed: Lexus LX
If offroad is needed: Toyota 4runner/ Lexus GX

If I was a family man in need of a SUV I would only be looking at Toyota or Honda.

I have a 2016 (the updated) Tiguan. It's brilliant. Fit and finish are great, it is dustproof, great all round vision, good ground clearance, driver assistance excellent and AWD to boot. It has hill descent control ascending and descending. It's been reliable. If the engine did fail, I'd seriously consider converting to electric drivetrain. Yes, I like it that much.

You and another youtuber convinced me to buy a Toyota product. Never looked back, thank you!

I've had 5 Jeep Grand Cherokees and have found them to be reliable, comfortable and capable. My new 2022 Grand Cherokee Altitude is amazing. You would not see them everyway if they were unreliable. They sell every one they make and the Jeep customer loyalty is extremely high.👍🇺🇸

My 2016 BMW X5 xDrive diesel has been a money pit. By 75000 miles I had experienced clogged moonroof drains, bad front struts, cracked oil filter housing, and a trashed rear differential. Spent $10k in repairs/non-routine maintenance in last year. Going to try to hang on for another year before I get rid of it. Only plus is that I found a great independent mechanic who specializes in European brands.

We have two Volkswagen Tiguan (2012 and 2013 model) both has high enough mileage and still have them. Beside normal maintenance such as brake spark plugs and coil and PCV module. Honestly the repair I mentioned above is nothing. The car works well during winter months and with all wheel drives system. AC system works great too. My suggestion is.. bring to your own mechanic. Don’t bring to dealer for service. Dealer service department is there to make money..not to save you money. Would I buy Volkswagen again? Yes! We just bought Volkswagen TAOS 2022 for our daughter.

I bought a new Pathfinder in 1993 and owned it for 8 trouble-free years. The only reason I sold it was because I wanted a pickup truck. There is no way I'd buy a new Pathfinder. Nissan products were as reliable as Toyota products in the 80s and 90s, but sadly this is no longer true. It's also sad to see Honda's quality start to slip, but that's another
