Revolver Super Deluxe Edition Announcement- My Thoughts

An overview of the announcement and my thoughts about what we are getting.

And this time the Americans are now getting the Original Album. 14 tracks.
I always order Album & CDs.
After seeing them live in London 1964. I had to buy EVERYTHING.

Just an incredible marketing miss by the marketing team at Apple! How could they not include the blu-ray with the surround sound mixes? Those discs have always been the go to listen for me and so many other audiophiles with all of the previous deluxe box releases. Revolver is my favorite album....but this will certainly turn many away from the "deluxe" version.

HOW MUCH ??? If I buy it it will be vinyl...looking forward to it.Was hesitant about the thought of remastering these iconic albums but I'm old fashion. If it's not broken don't try and fix it.

I will buy this obviously as a mad Beatles fan but i am disappointed in certain aspects of the extras as first off no Blu-Ray which is strange with no indication there is going to be a download card included & also the 4 track EP is fine on the vinyl set but the CD one.... Well !! Also the extras track listings are several versions of the songs already on the Anthology 2 CD & the Real Love CD single & do we really need 4 versions of Yellow Submarine ? The 2022 remix of Taxman sounds awesome & i am happy at the Mono version being included.

So glad Apple has finally made the official announcement. Got my preorder in for the deluxe vinyl and CD set. I also saw on the Target site they have an exclusive vinyl with tee shirt but it is nearly 50.00 so not sure if that is worth it. Enjoyed your video, really looking forward to release day. Nice video Matthew as always. As you probably already know im going for the CD & LP deluxe box sets and possibly the picture disc. Really can't wait to dive into this . Very odd that there is no out tales of Good Day Sunshine - if there were other songs that had no out takes it would have been less surprising but hey. i think some of these out tales have been out on Anthology 2 but without checking i can't remember which ones

i was looking at the track listings of all editions, they seemed to omit “Goodday Sunshine” sessions. anyone have any info as to why? i just find it curious.

Hi Matthew, great video about the new Beatles release. hmm... even as a Beatles hardcore fan I am still undecided to be honest. First, the remix of Taxman and the snippets of the other songs played in the promo video did not overwhelm me. I wish, they had done a more progressive remix like the 1999 Yellow Submarine songtrack album. This record shows, how good remixed beatles album could sound. Second, I think the CD version as well as the vinyl version for the SDE are really overpriced at the moment. sure, prices will come down when release day comes near. But at least here in Germany, all Beatles SDE sets got a significant price drop a few month after release date - some only temporary.. ok. Maybe I will wait a time and in the meantime I use the streaming option only. Third, this EP thing is just stupid. I could never understand why people reject the single tracks as bonus tracks to the original stereo and mono album. This appears a little bit as a rip off to me. Forth, the missing bluray is an issue. I really do not like these "breaks in a series". To have the bluray including mono and stereo mixes was very cool for the white album e.g. And finally, I have all other Bestles SDE on CD so far. But since I missed to buy the vinyl mono box for a reasonable price (I was not in vinyl that time) I NEED TO HAVE the mono edition on vinyl, regardless if its AAA or digitally sourced. ...
Ach so, Good Day Sunshine... the master recording was Take 1 which got some overdubs. So nothing interesting in the archives for that song..

You don;t need a slipcase for a book that is a mere 100 pages, so a needless expense we pay for right there. Then there's an EP that has songs already on the other cds, just different takes that could all have fit easily onto the other cds. So we could have been spared the cost of an extra redundant disc or else that disc could have offered value for money by including more alternate takes from the archives, such as 'Good Day Sunshine'. Or that extra disc space could have satisfied those buyers who expect a blu ray, though I;m not among them. So cd buyers get short changed by being bound by the technical limitations of vinyl just because Apple now want the cd set to replicate exactly the vinyl set, defeating a virtue of the cd format. What Apple have done is reduced the value of the content in terms of book volume, outtakes, disc volume, and bumped UP the price dramatically on top of that. I just don;t get these previews that are completely uncritical of the price-content ratio: it makes the video no different to an official Apple hype that aims to satisfy its stockholders more than its customers, which means selling more for less.

Hey Matt. In life there's always going to be haters no matter what you try to do. Peter Jackson and his team had a lot to do with helping Giles out getting this remix correct. I just put my headphones on and played the 2022 remix of taxman that's out on YouTube then I followed it up with the 2009 remaster and the 2022 mix is so much better. Let me know what you think Matt. This guy that goes by Debrssar has done nothing but bitch about this all day. Can please everybody that's for sure.

Why would you want to get CDs? They have no value compared to vinyl, which will only go up in value if taken care of properly.
