Seriously, even if it cost 50 bucks I would buy the Blu-ray. It's the only reason I buy these giant sets in the first place. Animals being released stand alone for ONLY 20 bucks is an amazing thing because the Floyd rights owners often milks it's fans like Apple Corps does. I would love if this were a trend, even if it's not as cheap as Animals.

Great video. The price of the Marillion deluxe CDs + Blu-ray sets *really* puts these Beatles releases to shame. They also have been released with consistent packaging, excellent extras, etc. And I'm sure the guys in Marillion could do with the money more than the guys in The Beatles could... All in all, the Marillion sets probably represent one of the greatest examples of "Value for Money" I've ever seen; the Beatles sets, not so much.

I'm with you -I'M NOT BYING IT. For every Beatles Super Deluxe box set until this one, I have bought the set and kept the Blu-Ray disc (mostly for the 5.1 mix) -and quickly resold the rest of the set. Since this new box set doesn't include a Blu-Ray disc at all, I'm simply going to buy the single CD with the new stereo remix -and that's all. Did you notice that on the invited event on September 1st presented by Giles Martin, the only mixes that were presented were the "new Stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes, plus rare and previously unreleased session recordings"? NO MENTION of a 5.1 mix AT ALL. Why wouldn't a 5.1 mix not been made? Whose decision was that? Someone might argue that the 4-track recordings and any available multi-tracks available before reduction mixdowns aren't enough to create a good 5.1 mix. If that's really the case, why was it possible to create Atmos mixes from the recordings then? If the answer is the demix technology, then surely a good 5.1 mix would be easily possible as well. I'm not going to go buy a new AVR and get a low-rez streaming subscription for this album -and I'm surely not alone in that.


You know, if the 'suits' really wanted to cash in, they could have sold the Blu-Ray disc with 5.1, Atmos and hi-rez content we all want as a stand-alone for say, $35 -and they could have really made a good haul. And because it's the Beatles we're talking about, you can bet that any such Blu-Ray disc would still be in print 20 years from now. Look no further than the Love DVD/CD set for proof of that. Apple Corps and Capitol shot themselves in the foot with this missed opportunity fiasco!! Whatever percentage drop in the revenue for this new box set will be from those of us who have primarily bought these box sets for the Blu-Ray disc (however small) -will still be enough for them to see a decline from the sales of previous Beatles box sets, so get the message sales executives!!

To your point - Pink Floyd's Animals is an Acoustic Sounds $99 pre-order, that has the following: Deluxe Edition 2018 Remix LP + CD + DVD + Blu-Ray + Booklet. The $99USD price tag includes 5.1 surround. It's not Atmos, but still. That's a great value compared to the Revolver Super Deluxe, etc. "Baby You're a Rich Man" Apple people, and Beatles, Inc.

The announcement specs are a mess but remember w the deluxe sets there is also a 100 page book. And the mono vinyl with the deluxe box is a brand new all analog cut by Sean MacGee. He confirmed last night. ✌🏼

Myself I probably purchase the double CD set if available most outtakes available on anthology CDs.
Personally I think Magical Mystery Tour needs remastered.

I’m with you all the other Beatles box sets have blue rays and I’ve enjoyed listening to them. They sound great l don’t know why they don’t include a blue ray with this set. Thank you for videos, there most informative.

Yeah - I was disappointed that there is no HiRez Blu-Ray. I bought all the other Boxes. Everyone should just Download the Torrent for free. It'll be up before Oct 28. The Atmos maybe a day later.

Apple/UME dropped the ball here....
So they are selling this one for more than some of the previous Beatles boxed sets 🤔.. & those had more content (a blu-ray disc included).

Living in my part of the World is good that we don' t have a " new mix, " fever like in U.S. so no one " runs, " to get it. I do not want to explain why it is stupid to think that is realy " new mix, " it is same sh..t other package trust me. I spent 15. years in music studio know all proces of making and producing so they can' t fool me as normal konsumer. Nice video.😎P.S.no " ugly, " names from my side.🤣😂

I've bought the previous sets but not going to bother this time without the Blu-ray. Another point worth mentioning, I'm with Tidal on the Hifi package, to listen to the Atmos I need to upgrade to Hifi Plus at double the price. So frustrating.
