What to do? What not to do? Best Ways To Heal Fastest! MUST WATCH VIDEO

Having a tooth removed can be scary, and people often are worried about the pain that will happen afterwards. This is understandable, because having a tooth removed (including a wisdom tooth) often results in pain. Thankfully, I have put together this video of 22 different tips that you can use, that will guarantee to speed up your healing process, and reduce your pain afterwards.

I first cover things that you can do before the procedure. These aim at reducing inflammation in the gum beforehand, which promotes better healing.

Next we talk about what pain medications will help to reduce pain afterwards, and the best way to take them

Then I discuss the different ways that you can reduce your risk of dry socket.

Afterwards, I mention things that you should know when it comes to food that you can and can't eat, what temperature to have your food, and when you can go back to normal food. We also talk about pineapple, and how that can be beneficial.

I cover the things to aboid afterwards, such as smoking and alcohol, and vigorous exercise.

Bleeding afterwards is normal, so I cover the ways to reduce bleeding, and when to seek help from your dentist/surgeon.

Lastly, we speak about a few tips to improve your life afterwards, such as when to schedule the extraction with work, having a helper around, and timing the procedure with your menstrual cycle.

This is funny. I had a tooth extracted today. This evening, I was talking with my neighbor . After about 20 minutes, I told her I have to go inside because my mouth was hurting and I needed to take the pain medication. I came in, took the medicine and watched this video. Never did a dentist ever tell me, not to talk too much. Thank you, Dr. Paul. Great information and great video.

Hey doc, just got out all 4 wisdoms and a 5th tooth. I experienced pain for over a year because I was so terrified of the procedure. You dentists and oral surgeons are miracles on earth. The procedure went way better than I could’ve hoped for and everyone made sure to keep me calm and positive. Not only that but you guys even come out to social media just to keep helping. Truly amazing people. And thank you for all the advice, it’s been a couple days now and I’m still swollen like a chipmunk but with your help I know I’ll be better in no time

My doctor never once mentioned anything with my menstrual cycle. So I got them pulled while on it. It took them 1 hour and 24 minutes to pull the tooth out. I felt a lot of it and numbing barely worked. The doctor never mentioned what I couldn’t eat he just said liquids was important. Never told me when to take the gauze out and never told me when or how often to take medicine or use ice packs. He seemed annoyed with the fact my tooth did not want to come out. I have to go back in October to get another tooth pulled and I’m extremely scared. This video has definitely helped, I’m barely 24 hours after surgery and I had no idea what to do. Thank you!!

Yup, I’ve got 3 days until my wisdom teeth get removed. I’m happy to learn about a few things that will help me before, and after! (My gums kill me right now. I’ve waited too long, the pain wasn’t that bad for a while, but then the unbearable pain started early in the year of 2022. My wisdom teeth had gone from 81% developed (March 3rd), to 98% developed June 30th). How wonderful.) Thanks for the tips!

Edit: My teeth are still under the gum. They are pointing towards my other teeth and putting pressure on them, so it’s not that great.

I got all 4 wisdom teeth out and the tops don’t hurt at all but the bottoms grew in sideways. Thank you for these tips, they’ve helped me so far today!

Coming up on 36 hours since I had all 4 of mine removed and it hasn't been nearly as bad as I initially thought. Watching videos about the surgery beforehand definitely made me worry, but now having gone through it I can confidently say the videos look much worse than it actually is. Most annoying part so far was just waiting for the numbness to go away so I could actually eat without the food spilling everywhere haha. Swelling hasn't been too bad with icepacks and about 95% of the bleeding stopped within the first 24 hours as well. Still see some in the sink when brushing and softly rinsing the mouth, but nothing concerning. My body has felt quite slow and lethargic, and I have been nervous to do anything that may cause the blood clots to dislodge, but that is just a good reason to lay in bed and relax for a few days before going back to work. To anyone nervous about this procedure, do not worry. Thanks for the great advice!!

Thoroughly and well explained. I just shared on Facebook. Thank you.

He is right. I prepared my meal and store them in the Freezer before I had my teeth extracted.

I ate fried spinach with garlic, onion and butter, then I had it blended into a soup + separate mashed potato with butter yesterday.

My first gentle brush ( i used a small brush. Will start using my electric toothbrush after the area have properly heal or when the blood clot is no longer visible ) and rinse was today. Just tint my head left, right, forward and backward, letting the water swirl on it's own, then i gently let the water out of my mouth.

So I have 4 teeths extracted yesterday, 2 from upper jaw and 2 from lower jaw. I guess I was more afraid of the numbing injections given in the areas of Teeth extraction, different areas inside the mouth including the roof of the mouth, i almost passed out because I hate injection.

Immediately my Orthodontist put back the wires in there, have it tightened and then with a rubber band at both sides of the teeth closing the upper jaw and lower jaw together. So that's double pain 😢.

My mouth was kinda of bloody. The injection Numbness made my mouth and lips looks and feels like a balloon, but it started finally wearing off after some hours later, like 3 hours later. I started feeling pain ( if I knew i would have taken Ibuprofen with me ). But my Orthodontist was kind enough to give me 400mg Ibuprofen, that was all they have there and not 600mg. My other worry was how was I going to eat with this messed up teeth, because i was really hungry.

My 4 extraction area was stitched up, but thank God they used the non removable stich, so I wouldn't have to sweat about them removing the thread and causing me pain.

They told me to eat after the numbness has worn off which will be more than 4 hours later.

You’re an excellent teacher. Thank you for taking time to make something like this. I have slight pain on day 2 and a really puffy cheek, but your video has put me at ease

Amazingly informative video . I have a hole behind my back molar on the right side of my mouth . I’m guessing it’s a emerging wisdom tooth . Not fully sure but I tried doing some research on google and that’s what it has suggested. I have booked a dentist appointment on Thursday to check this . I also love how in your video you regularly interact with the comments I see that it also puts a lot of people at ease .

Thank you for the video. Im currently 19 hours into my post teeth extractions. I had a local anesthetic. I had top and bottom wisom teeth removed along with a second molar on one side. Wet gauge was key to gettinf a good clot and I actually had to learn that from experience. I purchased anti sticking gauge to help with the socket getting a good clot. My oral surgeon prescribed antibiotics, mouth wash, Tylenol 3 and naproxen. I have no pain at all. Some slight oozing which I know is normal. I feel like I could eat solid foods but I know to wait. One thing to add to your video I would say is to avoid carbonated beverages. I don't think I seen that in the video.
