Stretching, good shoes and good shoe inserts called planter fasciitis inserts helped me with alleviating pain for a bottom heal spur. I now wear the insert with my indoor slippers. I am 65 years old.

Surely if you have a sharp spur digging into your achilles tendon and you want to keep exercising/competing without pain and without the tendon eventually tearing, then you need to have it removed.

Also, if you have spurs on the back of your heel, you do not want to wear sneakers with hard heel counters, and all the shoes you recommended have hard/hugging heel counters. Wouldn't you go wiih a shoe that has a soft/flexible heel counter, such as Nike?

My pain is on the inside upper part on the side of the heel.
Not the bottom.
If I wear any shoe that rubs that the pain is terrible.

Sometimes if I walk too much at night it hurts so bad and that spot is on fire.
What can I do? 😭
