Shadow Home Secretary James Cleverly criticises Home Secretary Yvette Cooper for not responding to a letter he sent to her office as "the scrutiny of government can only work properly when Ministers are open, honest and transparent".

Cooper responded by accusing Cleverly of not being "transparent" about the Rwanda scheme when he was in office.

They are all awful. It just goes round and round and nothing is ever resolved. But hey the pensioners are now paying. First they took our free tv licence, now they are taking our fuel allowance. I am 77 and on the old pension with a very small private pension. Luckily I still have a part time job. But then I pay tax too
