If you wrap the thinner line twice so many times as the thicker line it will result in a more steamlined knot slightly longer tailed on thin line side. This will cause less rod ring friction.

Is blood knot good for lines of disparate diameters, like 60# mono to 40# braid?

I prefer the albright special, never had it fail me, not once. Cant say that about the blood knot. Idk why, but I had too many of these come apart out of nowhere and send $10s worth of lures flying across the lake.... damn skinny though, probably the skinniest, but only by a hair.
