This is one of BB King's best ever guitar solos, in my opinion. A live performance of Nobody Loves Me But My Mother from a concert in Sweden, 1986. As always, BB King makes the guitar sing and weep with his incredible touch, tone, feel and dynamics. Enjoy!

Oh. I forgot to mention, he shook everybody’s hand who wanted to at the end of the show as the band played on. Now that’s class. Thanks again BB. Your legend lives on.

His facial expressions were perfectly in sync with every note... now, that's playing from the heart. And to me, that's a hundred times more impressive and moving than any fancy technical guitar playing !

BB didn't stick to his "BB Box". He knew so much more about harmony, as evidenced by these melodic lines. His early jump blues showed a great understanding of playing to the changes.

Now battling cancer. This soothes my soul and makes me want to hang in there so I can keep playing blues on my guitar. .

The daddy of them all. BB made every note count, his phrasing was masterful and he knew how to use silence between notes. That's what defined his playing. And a voice to match. Young guns should take note, it's not all about shredding & lightning fast pentatonic licks. Musicality and melody should always and will always win the day.

I don't recall ever seeing BB playing a chord but he could solo like few others. What a vibrato.

The art of story telling through careful thoughtfulness and passion. Never rushed and full of conviction. RIP to the king of single note mastery.

So glad I got to see this man live. Well into his 80s and he was still putting on a show. What a legend.

The way he drives the band and the way the band drives him is magic. Musical understanding and communication at its finest. The vibrato and how he plays the guitar like a good soul vocalist is just incredible. RIP BB, you gave the world all your love.

BB had an amazing understanding of feel and melody. his playing was some of the first music that really made me understand that less is more. that instantly recognizable vibrato and letting notes ring out has so much more impact than mindlessly shredding the fretboard

I used to work for a sound company and got to mix BB about 7 or 8 times. He didn't carry a horn section to all his shows but the band was more dynamic when he did. A blues icon!

BB King was the first guitarist I got into as a kid. I have met many, many of my heroes in music but meeting B B King and shaking his hand was the undoubted highlight. He even made a big fuss of my pregnant wife too. I went to see him in concert at every opportunity I could, the man was a true legend. Love to him from Scotland.

He once said his licks were like singing, that there was a conversation going on in his head, Lucille was just telling the story. None other like him...ever!
