B.B. King is the greatest living exponent of the blues and considered by many to be the most influential guitarist of the latter part of the 20th century. His career dates back to the late forties and despite now being in his eighties he remains a vibrant and charismatic live performer. B.B. King has been a frequent visitor to the Montreux festival, appearing nearly 20 times, so choosing one performance was no easy task. This 1993 concert will surely rank as one of his finest at any venue. With a superb backing band and a great set list its a must for any blues fan.

It is Incredible how this man created a song only using a few notes. He’s a master at bending strings.

His left hand string muting skills are just unreal. His feel is out of this world. A true giant of the craft.

I love the facial expressions musicians make when they play; they aren't just playing the notes, you know they feel what they're playing, and those emotions sing out from their instruments. If someone who could read music simply played this song note for note, you'd recognize what you're hearing, but that same song would come to life if it were played by a master like BB. Like if an average literate person recorded an audiobook, and just spoke the words they were looking at, you'd understand them but they would not capture the emotion or feeling of the book that the author meant to convey. Great musicians master the basic language of their respective instruments and then master the ability to capture the emotion of what they're playing. And everyone feels it, including them.

No matter how many times I listen to B.B King I always feel the same feeling, my brain melting as if it were the first time, it's even difficult to try to explain the inexplicable.

This song is so beautiful. Never grew up around blues, I mainly grew up around a lot of Latin music but man… anything blues, soul/neosoul, and jazz has to be my all time favorite. There’s something in the scale that makes me feel like no other music can.
