Even when B.B talks normally he still sounds like he is singing the words.

The stage is literally nearly collapsing with that much heavyweight talent on it. Outstanding

I was 13 when I first heard BB on WLAC AM, Nashville.
I grew up with the Delta Blues.
I'm almost 81.
I have been blessed.

Slash was so restrained, so respectful. BB was, and always will be, one of the greatest of the greatest. I saw him twice within a year, during his final days, but I missed THIS show. What a moment!

My wife (RIP) booked B.B.'s daughter Shirley King for a New Years Eve show in Muncie Indiana at Pub she worked at in town. B.B. was playing the same night at Ball State University at a show earlier in the day. we picked up Shirley and her band in our mini van and Shirley said "you all want to meet my Daddy?"ummm….YES! met him at the Hotel in town right before he headed for the venue and he asked me and my wife if we were going to his show. we said no, we had not bought tickets and it was sold out. as I was fanboying over one of my heroes B.B. said " well, you are my guests tonight, come on." we followed him to Emens Auditorium on campus and he let us sit backstage and watch the show. I also got to meet Bobby Bland who opened for him. B.B. was one of the nicest men to ever walk the planet. His daughter Shirley is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. God Bless the King family for giving me and my wife one of the greatest nights of our life.

Slash putting his hat on B.B. King has to be the one of the most iconic moments in the history of guitar.

My name is Andy Okus. I been playing pro sax, guitar, bass, and piano over 45 years now. I met Mr. B.B. King when I was only 14 years old in 1971 at " Pirate's World " in Hollywood Florida. He was the kindest, most humble gentleman I ever met. He treated me; a little kid who knew one blues lick on the Alto sax like I was a millionaire or something. He was such a totally selfless human being. I hung out with his sax section after the show. They we're just as kind and giving as B.B. was. I mean they treated me like I was damn Charlie Parker. We just chilled and talked about playing different saxes. The mood and the vibe of this clip is a representative of the highest and finest respect that is shown among " Real " musical artists. The horn section were actually playing the hottest of anyone up there. In closing I remember hearing an old B.B. King 45 record from 1954 when I was only 13. That record was the rawest most firey playing I've ever heard from B.B. !! This was before he ever added horns. If y'all can find any of his beginning stuff from the early 50's you're in for a real pleasant shock! God Bless B.B. King forever and ever! The REAL KING OF THE BLUES!!!!

Never thought I'd see BB King and Slash on the stage together, and for BB to put his hat on was just great.

I'm from Egypt Alexandria city, my father may God's mercy be upon his soul, taught me how to listen to music, he was into classics, took me for concerts allover Europe for famous orchestras. He died in 88. Taught me & my brother how to recognize and distinguish between every musical instrument. I learned drums, my brother is a great pianist, not professionals but just for the love of music. We were and still practicing Muslims too. (Just saying)
Starting 1984, I was listening to blues, rock, heavy, jazz...etc! Back in the day it was a challenge to keep up with music while living in Egypt, almost impossible to find any recent albums. I was blessed to be in a British school college (school college is a school from KG to GED, 15 years same school with three years boarding). One day I found a "Smash Hits" magazine with my Irish mathematics teacher, i looked inside, and it was like open sesame Ali baba treasure 😅
So... they had a POBox address for annual subscription, so I messaged whoever there, sent 5 pounds inside an envelope, with a list of albums for various bands and asked them to buy me a tape for any of those bands in the list, just one, and ship it to my school, asked them if it was enough too. For an Egyptian kid, 5 pounds were a hek of money, (average salaries were equivalent to 50 English pounds a month). I was also quite sure those 5 pounds were gone. BUT astonishingly after 3 weeks I received a Pink Floyd's momentarily lapse for a reason album.
I dealt in tobacco, pills, weed, hash... you name it, selling them for the boarding senior students. They were mostly royalties from Arab countries, sons & daughters of African dictatorships regimes, European, American, Australian...etc children of diplomats and those working on oil fields and such. (My father was a diplomat based in Vienna). Still my allowance wasn't enough so i did what i had to do in order to listen to my favorite bands. Every month for 2 years, I sent between 5 to 8 pounds with a list of albums and I got one or two back.. Whoever was on the other end, working for Smash Hits magazine, I wish I knew you in person. Thank you for setting my music mindset for what to be, the coming 45 years of my life. I'm 57 now, grandfather, my children loved music too.
Be safe, we are all humans. ❤
