BB was so kind & there will never be another that can touch him. Once in a while, God gives us someone who touches our soul and that was BB. God bless you BB, can't wait to see you again, hell of a band in Heaven!

John Mayer plays the way John Mayer plays. He's not overplayin, he's not playin sloppy, he's just like a little child that dreamed his whole life of playing next to this legend.
Instead of analyzing this performance and nitpicking it for mistakes that aren't even mistakes, just sit back and try to enjoy musical improvisation for once in your life.
Blues is all about the blue notes. The ones you call "sloppy".
The thing I hate most about negative reviews is that they never seem to come from anyone who has ever done something like this in their entire lives.

Oh and btw, happy birthday to the king.

The backing band never get enough credit. These two masters at their craft would sound grest but not so hot without them. Respect!

BB King - such a humble, genuine man. I love it how he always recognises any musician who is playing alongside him. They may be not as good as he is, but he acknowledges them and that makes him a big, genuine man.

I was a finalist for the king of the blues competition and was there that night! I got to watch this part sitting next to Cheech Marin in one of the box seats above stage right… great memories! I got to open up for BB again in Ann Arbor at the Michigan Theater on 6/1/14!

It's fascinating to see two very different career stages, years of life and levels of experience through their playing so clearly. Mayer is so eager, all over the place in the best way possible, full of energy. And the King has done this for so long that he doesn't even "play" anymore, he just sits back and lets the guitar do its thing.

That said, two unvelievable fucking musicians. Amazing.

I love how people are always talking about how "John Mayer sucks"....he's up there with B.B. KING and holding his own with a guitar. Post your videos of your jam session with B.B. and THEN talk shit. Thank you, I'll be here all week.

I was down for taste of Chicago in the early 80's and heard these guys playing serious blues on a porch. My friend and I asked if they minded if we sat and listened... It was BB and Buddy Guy! I Actually got to play guitar on his porch with 2 of the greatest bluesmen that ever graced us with their gifts! I was only like 25 and wasn't even close to having the chops to shine their shoes!

it's like stealing something from someone whose right in front of you. This is a great example of the respect artists have for the man BBKing

I'm a small town Alaskan guy who discovered something that spoke to me in the blues. I walked into a little club in Little Rock while it was having a blues jam and it transported me. Decades later I watched BB King perform in Anchorage. This concert with John ties those decades together and their music soothes me.

I'm 73years years old (on July 15th of this year) and I can remember the night I saw BB King live in a small blues club in Phoenix and I was immediately hooked by one of the old school masters of old school blues

I was walking out of a vegas music store years ago, BB was walking in, we both stopped at the door, and gracious as ever he stood aside and said come on young man, I, being raised properly, also stepped back and said no sir you can go first. but he insisted, so I went ahead and said thank you sir, only when I went back in did the guitar tech say "you know who that was?... B. B. king". I hadn't even recognized him.

There will never be another like BB. He was the greatest of all time. You will be missed. Rest in Peace.

Guitarists have come and gone, but no one makes the guitar sound sweeter and soulful than the king.

It sounded like two buddies having a chat. John Mayer talking about the complications of life and B.B King saying everything will be okay.

I knew John could play very well because he plays Jerry Garcia tunes, but to play w/BB the way he did was marvelous. And BB was having fun taking it in as were the fans... The appreciation taking place on the stage was stuff of legendary proportion
