John mayer is respected in the guitar community, he's proven that he's not just a billboard top 40 pop star, but a really talented musician who has roots in blues and jazz guitar playing. It's good to see him play next to greats like BB and Trucks and not just try to steal the show. That's respect.

It's a bunmer to see all the negative comments beating up Mayer. I understand people love seeing the hot shot look bad but make no mistake, the dude is one sharp player. John sat back like a true gentleman and just listened. He's just unrated because he's overrated.... aaand Mr Trucks is just a juggernaut.

Derek Trucks may be our greatest living blues guitarist.

Blues guitar is supposed to emulate the human voice. Derek Trucks' guitar emulates the voice of someone better than the best blues vocalist who ever lived.

god, hearing B.B. tell Derek "that's about the best i ever heard it" made me want to cry. you can tell that Derek is really humble and that he's worked his ass off to be as good as he is. such a talented group of musicians in this video.
