Easiest Way For Finger Joints

This console table is one of my favorite builds. The way the pieces fit together so snug and so perfectly every time is my favorite part along with fitting the plugs into the mortise to hide the screws.

Finger joints are a very strong jointing method as you have screws running perpendicular toward each other along with wood glue at the joint lines.

The wood used for this console table is 8/4 alder (1.75” thickness)

It is 26” tall, 84” long and 12” deep.

Pro tips:

When running your table saw, run all of your pieces at your desired thickness before changing your measurements. (I used 3” thickness for my outside pieces and 6” thickness for my middle pieces.) Run all of your 3” pieces together and then all of your 6” pieces together, or whatever thicknesses you decide. If you keep changing your table saw measurements even a 1/16” difference when going back and forth between cuts can cause your finger joints to be too loose or too tight.
