Oh my holy god! This actually worked! I was working on a client project for days when my AE project file became corrupted when I had to restart my computer after it began acting up from a bluetooth keyboard making everything go crazy. My autosave to fall back on was several hours old so I would have lost hours of progress. I had to do a hard power button reset on my tower and everything cut off while I had AE open and it corrupted my file. I found this video, saw the other comments and hoped they were legit.
