Clearing the disk cache and adjusting memory didn't work for me. I tried the other steps in your video and it actually worked. You're a legend 🙌

thank you, the last steps helped me a lot. I was trying to edit a video but it kept crashing because it kept trying to load the whole video. but now it loads smooth.

Wow! this video helped me a lot, especially with the clear cache step. I had around 21 gb worth of storage and when i cleared it, the lag completely went away

your video didn't help in my case, but i discovered my problem. don't know if someone will use it but i'll comment anyway. last week i was troubleshooting an error i had with AE and one person told to activate compatibility mode in the program shortcut to open as windows 7, i did that and it didn't work but i left that way. some time later i fixed the thing, then i noticed after effects was taking like 1/2 seconds to respond EACH click i did. it was bad. today, trying to fix it seeing your video, i remembered and deactivated compatibility mode. fixed instantly, i'm reliefed, AE is fast (kinda), all good. probably no one will find this useful (too specific) but that's it!

really good info, changing to the 1/16 render setting on preferences really helped just that in urs its a drop down now its a scrollbar sorta thing
