1. What do you want to get out of journaling? (purpose: organization, improving mental health...?) -> 1-2 sentences
2. Rapid logging (things you need to do (tasks), things you experience (events), things you don't want to forget (notes)). Put symbols next to them to find them easier when you look back at them later.
- Tasks: divide long tasks into small steps. Minute 3:22 shows you how to identify/clarify a task state
- Events: things that don't happen everyday or things that you didn't plan before. Keep it simple and objective
- Notes: feelings, dreams, ... (for ideas instead, put a signifier, like an exclamation mark to find them easier)
-> other signifiers like * can stand for tasks that are more urgent than others/have priority

=> Keeping track of these steps will show you what worked, what didn't work, what you need more, and what you need less (for instance, do this table after 3 months to have an overview)
summarised: 6:25

I love the workplace drama unfolding in this journal. “Derek is let go” “Kevin is fired” lol damn Project X is tough on everyone 😂

I literally journal for my mental health and to organize my brain which is a very noisy mess, this method is so helpful but I easily get overwhelmed by what I see there and there. This kind of video keep me out of distractions I thank you all for that 🙏🏽

I started a BuJo in March and it's helped my ADHD brain immensely! Now I have a journal dedicated to keeping tracks of tasks at work, and a journal for my band, and one for my fantasy world I'm creating :D lol... probably using my official Blue22 for that one. I do use your - and + system for notes/research it, that was really elegant and clever, I thought. The exclamation is new to me, but I like it.

I've I added some things of my own; a triangle for accomplishments for that day, a square for gratitudes, and a heart for random acts of kindness. It seemed silly to dedicate an entire spread to those things, and now I can look back on each day.

I tend to keep my BuJo pretty minimalist/as Ryder and God intended (lol... old quote related to Heinlein sci-fi iirc). I just throw in positive/motivational stickers and draw lines around my days.

Thanks for sharing!

been bujo-ing since 2015. this system not only helped me learn how to manage my ADHD but also has taught me how to take control of my drug habit in the past couple of years. stick with it and practice, the bujo will change your life if you can learn to embrace it.

I started and stopped journaling two years ago. Then I did not get that a task can be an event! This seems a small thing but I think it's huge. Also I didn't get that a casual conversation was an event and would record them as notes. And last but most importantly I didn't get that logging observations and frequently got lost trying to record my feelings, or when I did record observations they would be overly detailed! This video was great! Made me wanna give it another try. Thanks.

I've been journalling since I was young, and I can say that it's helped me a lot in getting to know more about myself. It's also a great way to store information that may come in handy when the time comes.

I’ve been trying to start since reading the book in 2019. Set up a few times but then not used! Kept getting confused with the difference between tasks & events.. & even notes sometimes. THINK this video has helped me get my head around it! We’ll see when I try again tomorrow! Thank you

I'm a beginner, I used to write things passage-wise, but it really helps me mate,
I really like your way of dividing tasks, events and notes. It literally helped me out a lot.

This guy is an absolute genius and if he gained a mint from this bullet journal venture then he thoroughly deserves it.

in 2020, i wanted a better way to keep track of things at work, so i started a bujo. When I completed a task, i would also put a completed date next to it, so I could keep myself accountable. I could make it what i needed it to be. I still use it three years later. I keep lists in the back and a future log. and when i start a new week, i have a list of important items at the top. Its so adaptable. and i have refer back to my previous journals all the time.

Thank you, so useful. And thank you for your calm style. ❤ All my life I have wanted to write every little thing. I now know that it is my ADD brain that needs to externalize every thought to feel that it has been solidified.
