How I journal and take Bible notes (a simple system)

In this video, I'm going to be sharing with you my process for journaling and reading the Bible. Taking Bible notes and keeping a journal have been some of my favorite daily practices for a little while now. They add perspective to my life and help me to start the day with the right mindset.

I will break out my system in two parts:

1. Predictable Reading: having an idea of the set length I want to go for when sitting down to read.
2. Intentional Writing: setting a limit on the amount of words I will write down on my journal.

Both of them have to do with creating "rules" or "limits" but you will very quickly notice how each one has added tremendous value to my life.

It is my desire to motivate you and help you in this new habit you are taking on. The fact that you're doing your research or even reading this means that you're in the right track 😉

I would love to connect with you and know if you found this video helpful and how your journaling habit is going.

Thank you so much for watching and for your support!

A forma suave e clara que você fala me faz perceber que estou evoluindo mesmo sendo iniciante na língua inglesa. Obrigada pelo tutorial.

I am currently kind of lost when reading my Bible how to do it, I have tried multiple methods and this one really seems it could fit. Thank you and have a blessed day!

I have had trouble with journaling, but I greatly enjoy taking notes during the sermon on Sunday mornings, and looking back on ones from years past. Writing down the Scriptures and thoughts is VERY helpful whether during quiet time or during a sermon is wonderful. THANK YOU for sharing this!!

I personally use notion to do SOAP Bible studies on various books of the Bible on my iPad, I go with some stream or rain or ocean background noises and use guided access to stay focused and I have it in side by side view, my Bible and notes on the other side, I like it like this since I can access my notes on my phone and reread them at school so what I’ve read stays fresh in my mind.

Hugo,

Before knowing you were Christian, I just "stepped " on the review for your Martin because I was kinda interested in this guitar.
After that I just checked your channel and it was a bless.
It's hard to find good content about how keep going when you're a Christ lover but Jesus caught my attention with your videos on how to organize your day etc.
I don't know but Jesus loves you and I'm happy to know you by your channel.
Good bless you my friend.
I'm in France btw.

Wisdom above your years. As I'm now an old man, -multiple witnesses to "simpler is better", I wish I would've embraced this simple-ATTAINABLE system. THANK YOU Brother

Good on you bro. What you are saying is... find a way to keep at it; it is a spiritual discipline. You are showing us how important it is to do things in a measured way... a predicable way, the mind loves that, the consistency.. that is how habits are formed

Thank you so much for this. I love the restriction/ limits concept because some nights I’ll read quite a bit and then other nights not so much and then I feel guilty like I’m cheating God or not giving him the correct measure of time reading his word. I already love to journal and I have been trying to find a way to incorporate that in my study time. I buy highlighters and pens of all different colors and I just try to make it as fun as I possibly can so I can stick to it. Training the flesh is a constant battle but if we persist the fleshly desires will fall away as we get closer to the Holy Spirit. So for anyone feeling guilty for not enjoying the Bible as much as you think you should, don’t worry it’s natural in the beginning, once it becomes your regular routine you look forward to spending time with God, we’re all in this together, God Bless.

Thank you now that I heard your video I realize that reading one chapter and taking notes solely on this chapter will allow me to get a even greater understanding of what I feel when I’m reading and it will allow me to take more precise notes even if I pull from another book to help me with that specific verse or chapter and taking it one page at a time will be challenging but I can definitely see the benefits I appreciate it so much and I’ll definitely be subscribing you have a great way of making things make sense great talent thank you 🙏🏾 God Bless you
