Unless you go to parties several times a week, I don't see the problem. Eating carbs once in a while is not going to kill you.

If you are invited for a dinner (except a buffet) with friends you have to eat and behave as everybody else does in that group - or stay at home. Diet shouldn’t become kind of religion: exemptions are always possible. And don’t start talking about your great diet....
