My dad is like that, he will never admit he made a mistake, no matter how petty it might be he will go through some mental gymnastics to place the blame elsewhere. It's infuriating to witness the needless futility of it.

The original red flag with my now wife was she was raised to not apologize. We had some big fights about it. She now apologizes. I on the other hand am guilty of #2. I follow up a complement with a neg. Neither one of us tolerate #3.
