The city scape is my favorite, but each one helps me to understand techniques. Thank you!

I think this is one of the most important videos I have seen on your channel! I see so many aspiring artists trying to create masterpieces from day one, and they do well, but the reality is everyone needs to practice their skills in many things to improve, whether is is mixing colors to see what happens, or does a page of leaves or flowers to gain brush and color control. I am going to make a list of practice pages to do, including a brush page to get more comfortable with all the brushes I got in your subscription series a couple years ago. Thanks!

Your tutorials are absolutely excellent Emma! I am brand new to attempting to draw and paint with watercolors and am no artist...trust me. I've always wanted to try watercolor though and now that I'm retired, I finally have time to give it an honest go. I've only been at it for a couple of weeks, but I was so frustrated and discouraged I was ready to give up and pitch it all into the woodstove 2 days ago in a blinding rage...which happens quite often in this house with the odd project if im honest lol...but hey, I'm Scottish, Irish and German, with genes like those I'd bloody explode if I didn't fly into the occasional rage lol.
Then I stumbled across your channel...and hit the proverbial jackpot!! WooHoo!!! You explain everything so well Emma, you are so encouraging....and for us newbies especially, you don't speed along at 100km an hour!!
I have learned so much from your videos Emma. Just in the three tutorials I've watched...I can now paint leaves, asters and pumpkins...and I'm not embarrassed to show them to people!!!
I've gone from being ready to give up to being pleased with my work! I am having soooo much fun! I can't wait to get back at it again tomorrow and I'm excited just thinking about what I'll be able to paint! I was so happy with my progress this afternoon Emma, I shed a wee happy tear! I should add that besides retired, I'm also menopausal so bursting into tears isn't out of the that menopause bs might help explain some of those rages as well...hmmm. My "poor" husband says he's afraid to sleep with me just in case during one of my episodes, I remember something he did in 1997 that had really ticked me off and he wakes up in the morning with a fork in his eye. I also tend to ramble on and lose my train of thought. Most people think I'm just batcrap crazy....entertaining, certainly...but crazy nonetheless. Great, now I can't remember where I left off...remember that train I mentioned?? Yeah, it derailed..sigh
Anyway Emma, sorry I took up your whole thread...maybe I made you smile...or hit the block button...eek
Thank you from the bottom of my cold black heart for sharing your art, your knowledge and skill, and your time teaching the rest of us more mature-ish dogs!!!
Cheers from Canada 🍁

I love the sunset. After being somewhat successful in painting all the flowers in my bountiful garden, I decided it's time to try something else. Perfect timing. Thank you. PS, thank you for repeatedly covering basic skills, I need the frequent reminders.

Hullo Emma, I have made hundreds of sheets so similar to yours! I have even used the other side of the paper too, as long as you wait for the paper to dry completely your practice will be done and then if you feel like you need to be productive or not waste your supplies on basic practice then you cut your sheets down into bookmarks or gift tags, I have even made smaller pieces that can be used for mosaic construction! Thank you for sharing this truly wonderful practice to keep skills as well as eye hand coordination going smoothly.

I've been approaching my practicing like this a lot more by thinking that it will end up as a card panel since I make cards, or even cutting into tags for my journal making projects or simply drawing around some of the ones I like most..etc..takes the pressure off of it! Thanks for sharing!😎😊
