Solution For Programs Not Scaling to 4K on High DPI Displays

A few tips to fix programs not scaling to high DPI displays.

This is not a proper solution at all. Changing the resolution is defeating the whole reason to have a 4k screen. Heres an actual solution for those in need and does require windows 10 newest release.

Solution -
Once you right click [name of program].exe > properties > compatibility > "Change high DPI settings" > check "Override high DPI scaling behavior" Scaling performed by: > click on drop-down menu arrow and select "System"

This will actually not let the program try to scale and force the system to handle it which for most programs should resolve the issue. I used this solution to fix the Origin game launcher which is notoriously still more than 5 years later not doing it properly.

what could we do, if we only wanted to produce a super huge *cursor pointer* instead of altering all UI Settings. A mouse size *even bigger* than maximum windows mouse settings *allows* you.

Thanks for the tip on Compatibility tab in application shortcuts. It is not a 100% solution as you mentioned but I can now use my application that was previously rendered useless after I purchased a 4K Windows Notebook.

This video was cool. However, some of the options had compromises such as turning down the resolution. But the first one which was the compatibility mode one is ok. It did fix scaling issues in some applications such as code:blocks.
