Almost every Playstation 4 might go through this situation. Due to a minor to severe bump or fall, hard drive is old , or its time to upgrade to a bigger storage size so games and your console can play more smoothly!

Ok so I have a usb and I got everything on it I update the software and it goes right back to the same update screen I’m about to switch to Xbox 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Where do I get the new hard drive also my ps4 will get to 99% and only let me pick the 7th option which is to reinstall but I’ve done everything properly and nothing worked it will stay at 99% for like 5 minutes then say error and that it doesn’t work I’m pissed I’ve tried everything nothing works I just don’t know where or which hard drive to buy someone please help 🙏

This is my experience so far:

My little brother tripped over the charging cable and the PS4 did a front flip onto the floor. The next day I was playing like normal and the game I was playing had just gotten an update, after an hour of playing the new update, the game froze and then the screen went black. I could hear the BGM softly playing and since I couldn’t access the home menu or quick menu, I unplugged the PS4. Upon booting it up again I was stuck in safe mode.

To get out of safe mode I would try and download the update using wifi, it would load to 100% and then the “checking storage” screen would come up and it would get stuck at 23 - 25% before crashing and returning to safe mode. I also tried using a USB to try and install the update, but I would get the same end result. I ended up initializing the PS4 and it deleted all my save data and booted up like if it were fresh out of the box. Upon logging into my account and moving through the menu a bit, and downloading 3 games, it froze. I opened the quick menu to restart the console and the restart screen appeared but, it abruptly cut to black and I was back in safe mode. Everything I’ve tried has put me back into safe mode in the end.

Now I ask, would following this tutorial fix my problem?
