I connected my controller with the USB cable to the ps but it only charges the controller and when I press the ps button it just goes back to charging the controller and doesn't let me use it?

Bro it won’t beep twice. It just turns blue and turns off the second beep just makes it turn off

If your controller won't connect and is just flashing white. Go to settings / devices / blue tooth device / and hold the ps button and the share button and it should see your controller/ select it/ this is my issue adding a new controller.
