How To Fix PlayStation 4 Safe Mode loop (Easy steps and it works 100%)

If you are reading this guide, it means you might be facing an issue of the Safe Mode loop where your PS4 system only starts in safe mode and you can't boot it from normal mode.

To fix issue of PlayStation 4 Safe Mode Loop, try watching the video first. If that doesn't work, read the following steps below.

Try Official PS4 Support:
First call up Sony support and see if they give you nice and easy solution to get your PS4 on normal mode again.

Update System Software
From above screenshot, try option ,3 'Update System Software'. (To get the above menu hold power button on your PS4 for few seconds till you hear the second beep) Update System Software option will download if any new updates are available and install them, after the installation luckily you'll be booted into normal mode.

Reset or Initialize PS4: (Warning !! Deletes All Data on HDD)

Reset your entire PS4 console, if you have uploaded your saves to PSN Cloud Storage then this is good option, although you'll have to go through default startup after complete re-installation.

- Make sure you create backup of your save games.

- To reset your console, select option 6 (Initialize PS4) or option 7 (Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)), both options will delete everything on HDD, only difference between these two options is option 7 will delete the System Software as well and reinstall it, which will cause no harm if you going with Initializing.

This actually works. It keeps your apps, updates, etc. But deletes some of the saved data and profiles from your PS4. Just make sure your files are uploaded to the cloud and you'll be good!:)

Thanks for this video. For whatever reason, I had to repeat these steps several times because the PS4 kept shutting itself off. Then one time it stayed on, ran through the proper protocol and it worked! Didn't lose anything and I'm back up and running. Thanks again...

Didn't work for us. After selecting option 4 there is a quick loading bar while it restored the settings then it shut itself off without us having to choose to shut down. When we turned it back on it went right back to the safe mode menu again. Can anybody tell us what to do? How to fix this?

thanks for posting this. The first time it happend i sent it to sony, they took 150 of my cash and it happened again. I then found your video and it worked. Sony has known about this all along. They could have posted a free fix video, what a bunch of crooks

This confuses me because my PS4 just shows the logo then goes to a black screen, and if I access safe mode then the first five options do the same. PS Support suggested option 6, but I would like to keep my capture gallery pictures and videos.
