About 70% of the population gets random muscle twitches. The medical term for this is fasciculation—spontaneous involuntary muscle contraction and relaxation. This could happen to your eyelid, arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, or tongue.

There is even a medical condition called benign fasciculation syndrome. I believe this condition is really a nutritional deficiency. But, the typical treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy, anti-depression medication, and calcium channel blockers.

In my opinion, random muscle twitches are caused by a magnesium deficiency. About 70% of the population also has a magnesium deficiency. Leafy greens are rich in magnesium.

Other symptoms of a magnesium deficiency:
• Fatigue
• Muscle cramps
• Anxiety

Other potential causes of a muscle twitch:
• High calcium
• Low vitamin D
• Alkalosis (potentially caused by a high carb diet or low potassium)

I think Dr. Berg is in our houses. I literally have been experiencing this for the past few days, my left finger and left eye lid have been acting up on and off.
Thanks Doc!

I was having these twitches since last year on my cheeks, on hands and legs - not at same time though and are random but not consistent. Started adding spinach, carrot, cauliflower, beets and nuts to my oat milk ice cream shake 3 months ago. Now I don't have these twitches. I never googled it because if you google anything it ends up being 'you may have cancer' almost all the f*** time🤣.

I’ve been dealing with random twitches for a while now and I learned that I was taking too much B6 vitamins which caused toxicity. I did research on B6 toxicity and learned that other people with the issue were also experiencing twitches .

The worst thing is when this happens to your eyelid, and you're wondering if the person whom you are speaking with, has noticed it or not. 😂
Great video as always, very informative.

I'm glad I looked this I was just having a twitch in my left chest muscle which made me do it. I was put into the hospital in early 2020 b/c I thought I was having a heart attack. 3 days of testing resulted in being assured my heart was in great but my heart had a muscle spasm due to Magnesium/Potassium deficiency which hurt SO much. So I just got up and took 2, 000 mg of Magnesium Taurate plus some Potassium. So glad you're here to help us Dr Berg!!!

Ooh! Fun fact, I've been using magnesium as a sedative to help me sleep better! I also noticed that my twitches and leg cramps disappear after taking magnesium too!! I'm glad this video helped confirm that Mg is good for twitches!

I used to have muscle twitches in my eye and legs, along with muscle cramps in my hamstrings and feet. I tried using oral magnesium, and that helped a bit, but if I took enough to completely alleviate the twitches and cramps, I would get diarrhea. Then I discovered topical magnesium oil. When I first started massaging magnesium oil into my feet, calves, thighs and torso, it burned like hell! It also made me itch so much that I started drawing blood from all the scratching I did. I would have quit, but the cramps and twitching stopped immediately, so I gutted it out and kept using the stuff.
Luckily, the negative side effects went away after a week or so.
I found that I could buy magnesium flakes pretty cheaply, and now I make my own magnesium oil by dissolving the flakes in some heated distilled water. I use the oil daily, and haven't had a twitch or cramp in months. I also sleep a lot better, and my mood is much improved.

I started having these last year (June 2020) it’s actually a lot worse/ annoying than what some people make it out to be .. it got so bad that it had me thinking I had something much worse than just a benign twitch. But thanks to people such as Doctor Berg, I’ve been able to remedy most of my health issues. 🙏

I had my left eyelid twitching constantly for an entire year. People would look at my face astonished. I knew it was stress, I was working in a toxic environment. Once I stopped working there, the twitch disappeared and never came back. Am also taking magnesium everyday now.
