Here are 3 mobility exercises that actually improved my day-to-day function

It's a bit particular to me, but I still tried to pick exercises that broadly cover:

-back mobility
-front mobility
-side mobility

There are other great mobility exercises out there like standing pancakes and pigeon pose - I just don't end up using them as often.

Notably, the elephant walks could have been replaced with a version that doesn't move, but I've always found them preferable for some reason. I just didn't progress as well with forward folds etc.

I'd like to build toward stronger middle splits in the future. They're a good example of something that's looked cool for me but I haven't really stuck to because I don't use it much outside of exercise. Others may have different preferences and experiences, so let me know!

Feet are for opening/closing dishwashers, washing machines, and also for flushing toilets

Man, i want to find a personal trainer like you so bad. You're so approachable and non-judgemental despite being so far past my athletic ability. I get so self-conscious when I see other fitness people talking. I think it's your emphasis on functional mobility/strength and starting from wherever we're at

I open doors with my feet too. Feet are also useful for closing dishwashers and picking up small things.

I really like your spiral bound book, Hybrid Calisthenics. I've lifted weights and distance run for 35 years. That makes me a bit stiff. I'm doing Yoga to help get more limber, but your exercises help a bunch. And I can stretch, twist, and balance in yoga without going ouch or falling over 😃😃 thanks a bunch 😎✌️

I used to do a lot of stuff with my feet like opening doors or moving lighter furniture. But as I got older people made fun of me for it so I stopped. Think it's time to get back into it :D
