The best salespeople I have ever met have never attended school or fake courses. They're down to earth, great talkers, and at the end of the day they want to see someone take a product or service they offer. There is no course to convince someone who doesn't have a need or a want to buy something.

No ? Why is skills being measured with money ? I could be a great programmer without having to spend money on boot camps. He wrong

A sales person could easily lie and say they spent 14k on this and 326 hours on that 😂😂😂

Don't agree with discarding a salesperson if he didn't spend money on courses or books. Look at her success in sales. If the numbers are there, focus on how they achieved that success.

If this guys selling courses good pitch . That’s the lesson here . Also my job asked a similar question what have you done to improve knowledge skills over the year. Essentially they are assessing how much your invested in personal growth and how much they can get out of you

Literally had a pot of money I said aside for saving for professional development courses that are independent from any company for this exact reason

Personality and professional pedigree matter more than anything else. If they’ve spent resources on training then great, but that means nothing if they’re not fun or actually good.

What if they are super in debt and their credit cards are maxed out lol

100% in order to grow I must invest in myself

No… don’t let people belittle you and make you feel like a number that only exists to make you money… you are a business yourself! You are there because the bottom line is you are carving out a life for yourself. Don’t forget that! This guy sounds like he has worked for way too many greedy companies that expect you to work just as hard outside of working hours unpaid then in working hours. If your interviewer asks how much of your own money you spent on making them more money… don’t take the job.

My previous employer spent over 1000$ each week on sales trainings for the team. We've been sitting there, simulating sales situations etc for hours. I worked 10, 11 hours shifts, cause afrer that training we had to get back to work and close the deals. So yeah, I did not spend my own money on sales education, but I was curious and serious to work there under that pressure. So yeah, your advise is, sorry to say, stupid.

These online sales trainers are only talking to management 😂

😂🤣😂🤣 A good salesman starts with being likeable. Which you are not. All you need next to be a good salesman is to let your customer know you have the solution to a problem they didn't know they have. Desperate to sell your classes are we? 🤣
