Do I Regret Leaving California? (my honest thoughts will probably offend you)

A lot of people are moving back to California after leaving. I left and it’s been a few months since. I share what I regret about leaving as well as all the things I don’t regret. The traffic and the prices have gotten worse. The food isn’t great. The only thing it has going for it is the weather and the mary jane. I choose to leave the city for a slow living lifestyle in a small town in Arizona. Best decision I ever made.

I think the people who regret leaving California didn’t do the proper research. The problem might not be the city…since ALL big cities are pretty much the same. Kindly drop a like, comment and share! (it really does help me out with the algorithm!)

My lifestyle changed dramatically after I left the city. Left my 6 fig tech job to become a wildland firefighter. Now I live in the rural area of California. Even though I’m pretty much the only Asian in my community, I actuality feel more welcoming and at home than I did in SF. I think people just need to explore more and get out of there comfort zone

I have neighbors that moved from San Francisco to Azle, TX. They love it and I knew when the first thing he did was hang up a don't tread on me flag in his garage when it was snowing and -2 degrees outside we were gonna be great friends lol.

I’ve been to LA multiple times and it boggles my mind that people actually enjoy being there.

We left California a few years ago. We returned for a week long family matter. After driving around a seeing the changes, we realized California is no longer home. The first thing we noticed after leaving California was the freedoms you have that California took away from you. Cost of living is lower and quality of life immediately improves.

2:54 im glad you said that, i hate how people constantly praise weed for reducing anxiety and fail to see that the environment they're in is what's causing their anxiety in the first place, its like this with alcohol, tobacco and vape, so long as you don't know why you're miserable you wont want to leave. Its a never ending cycle that will eventually make you spend all your money on this "miracle cure" and leave you with nothing.

I'm glad people are starting to wake up and see how bad it's gotten in California.
But I really wish that instead of leaving, they would learn from the examples of other states that are better places to live and and use that to fix the problems they have there. I'm not trying to be mean, but Californians made that mess, Californians should clean it up.
One of the biggest fears people in other states have, is that Californians will move there and make the same mess.

I moved out of California 3 yrs ago...retired and I love it here in Alabama...it amazed me how many from California moved here...the big concern for locals, is that folks bringing their troubles here, I know Texas have signs saying "don't California my Texas "...honestly that is a just concern....we left California for many reasons, so leave those reasons in Cali

I never realized how restrictive and consuming California was until i left.. what an eye opening experience, after arriving in my new town i was asked if id like to go shooting 😲.. ok, sure.. there was probably 50-60 people, just out in the open target shooting against a hillside, I thought maybe this was the designated shooting range but found out it was just public lands open to all for recreation with almost no restrictions. I'm an avid shooter & gun owner now.. 🤗

After leaving Cali, I’ve realized how Unchill it actually is. So many living on weed and anti depression/anxiety to deal with the high stress artificial lifestyle

Born in la and lived there for the first 15 years of my life. Went on to live in Hong Kong, New York, Shanghai, then Singapore - then when I recently went back to la I loved it and thought it was super chill.

When you flee California remember you are a refugee, not a missionary!

I left the San Francisco bay area in 08'. Moved to rural Idaho. I know it's been said before but, BEST DECISION EVER. Didnt want to raise my kids there and the quality of life here is better. I agree with pretty much everything you say in this. Anytime I go back it smells, its dirty, and traffic sucks. I said I would never leave Cali, but now, I wouldnt trade my life for anything.

My husband and I escaped CA (San Diego) two years ago when we retired. Our daughter and her husband intend to leave CA as well. Your first "leaving CA" video presented itself on my Youtube feed, so I viewed it and sent it to her. Today I just viewed this one. I was floored to see that you chose to move to where we are!! This is just the inspiration and information she needs as she prepares her exit from CA and arrival in Prescott.

Girl, preach it! Lived in LA all my life and fled in 18. I used to live only 30 min down the freeway to work but it would take me 3 hrs to get there. So, retreated to the mountains near Canada. As soon as I crossed the state line from Cali, I flipped my middle finger out the car window and felt soo relieved. Thanks for speaking the truth.😃👍🏻

Just found your channel. I can't believe it took this long for the algorithm to recommend you!

I'm a VFX artist who lived in LA for 25 years. I moved to a small town in Nevada about a year ago once working remote became a thing in the industry, and it was one of the best things I ever did.
Being a film fan, the only thing I really miss in LA is all the revival movie theaters. But it's worth giving them up to have 30% more of my paycheck, no crime, and no homeless.

My sister moved to rural southern AZ years ago. She too had anxiety when she returned to CA driving. Imagine what this is doing to a person's health. I moved to rural CA, and the entitlement is just as bad. Moving out of state next.

When someone comes from California to a middle America
smaller town, some people in that town might resent you.
We got tired of being thrown under the bus, called ignorant,
uneducated racists. So pardon me if I don’t warm up real fast.

"People don’t want you ruining this amazing paradise they call home by being dumb..."

That is 100% true, and as one who moved to the United States from Ireland which has similar politics to California, I implore and beseech you to please remember that in the voting booth! You cannot escape something by running away from it only to vote for it again.
