It's not even that hot compared to most of Europe my friend on holiday in Italy said it has been mid 30s all week and they are fine. We are 10 degrees on average cooler and we can barely cope appropriately.

Excessive heat warnings were only introduced in June 2021, so to state "unprecedented" is somewhat misleading.
