According to the most recent ONS data, 2, 244 over 65s died during the 2020 heatwave during the first half of August where temperatures exceeded 34°C in parts of the UK for six consecutive days - which accounted for 88% of total heatwave deaths during that year alone we're not equipped in this country for high temps, so those who care please look out for family members with breathing issues and elderly neighbours

got sunday off but on monday and tuesday i have drive to people to help them get washed and changed. working 7am till 10pm. i got heat at just 30c

You say to look out for your neighbours in this potentially deadly hot spell coming up but what happens if you don't get on with your neighbours and don't communicate with them at all? I would feel very uncomfortable in engaging with them!!

Can't wait to go to the supermarket tomorrow only to find almost empty shelves.

People really panic in these situations. It's simply about being sensible. Avoid direct sunlight, slow down so you don't exhaust yourself and use common sense.

This heat often makes me ill so I have already planned Monday and Tuesday off work. I am going to stay indoors with the windows open and curtains closed. I'll keep hydrated and not do anything physically demanding.

2018 I cycled up alpe d’huez in 34•C. 62 at the time. I didn’t keel over and 2 days later in similar temperature I cycled the 32 km Croix de Fer
