The Met Office has extended an amber warning for extreme heat across England and Wales ahead of Monday's forecast where for the first time ever the country is expected to reach highs of 40C.
The UK’s first red extreme heat warning has been issued across a large part of England from London to Manchester and York on Monday and Tuesday.
An amber warning initially covers all of England on Sunday July 17 and extends to southern Scotland and Wales from Monday until Tuesday.
